
PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Take charge of the City of Dickinson’s Public Safety Communications Center!
Lead the Public Safety Communications Center as its primary manager, overseeing daily operations, personnel, and equipment. Ensure seamless coordination between law enforcement, fire, and EMS while maintaining compliance with policies, procedures, and industry standards.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, with occasional nights, weekends, and holidays
Salary:
$73,088.86 - $80,696.01 per year, depending on qualifications

Key Responsibilities
Supervise and schedule dispatch personnel
Oversee QA, training, and certification compliance
Manage emergency and non-emergency communications operations
Serve as
Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) for NCIC/CJIS
Develop and maintain policies and protocols
Coordinate multi-agency emergency response communication
Conduct performance evaluations and staff development
Ensure proper function of communication systems and technology
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s Degree
(Bachelor’s preferred)
3–5 years of
dispatch experience in public safety
2+ years
of leadership or supervisory experience
Strong
communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills
Special Requirements
Ability to pass
NCIC/CJIS background
First Aid/CPR certification (within 1-year of employment)
APCO PST I certification (within 1-year of employment)
EMD certification (within 1-year of employment)
NCIC certification (within 1-year of employment)
NCIC Instructor (within 3-years of employment)
APCO Instructor Certification (within 3 years of employment)
Certifications must be achieved and maintained.
