If you do, you might be a fit for Her Campus Media’s Social Editor/ Producer role!

Her Campus Media is seeking a creative, organized, hilarious, video-native, growth-minded Social Editor/Producer to build and guide Her Campus Media’s social video strategy, oversee our video-first franchises, and manage video-forward HCM social accounts. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management, planning, and content creation for assigned social accounts (i.e., College Fashionista) across platforms, as well as for the planning and execution of HCM’s original video franchises across our three main media brands: Her Campus, Spoon University, and College Fashionista. This fast-paced role requires working in partnership with editors, designers, the community team, and the branded content team, and it involves managing many moving parts, including but not limited to reacting in real-time to pop-culture news, managing a video content calendar, assigning and executing video content as necessary, delegating edits to the team’s PT social video editor, and consistently analyzing data to make optimizations. The ideal candidate is someone who has their finger on the pulse of Gen Z, is comfortable creating video content themselves and appearing on camera, is equal parts social media expert and video strategist, is a fast but intentional worker, and is excited to help steer HCM’s video presence in an ever‑evolving world while driving strong growth.

This is a remote role that will report to the Director of Social and manage a part-time social video editor.

Responsibilities and Duties

Day-to-day management, oversight, assigning/editing, content creation/posting for College Fashionista social platforms

Planning, producing, editing, and packaging original social video content and franchises for HCM’s three main media brands @hercampus, @spoonuniversity, and @cfashionista

Maintain a video production calendar in Asana, keeping track of when video deliverables are expected to go live and where they’re at in the process

Create and self-shoot original video content for social, including appearing on-camera in social content; attending industry events, junkets, interviews, etc. to capture social video content that’s relevant to our audiences

Work in tandem with the Director of Social to produce, book, and execute occasional in-person video shoots as needed

React in real-time as necessary to cover and respond to relevant events in a speedy but thoughtful and intentional manner, with the understanding that this sometimes means jumping on to cover something outside of work hours

Manage a small creator budget and work with the Director of Social and the HCM community team to identify and contract creators for editorial video opportunities

Drive growth, engagement, and increased video views across platforms through testing and trying innovative video approaches and trends

Analyze social data, prepare reports and insights, and optimize strategy based on the results

Work directly with the Director of Social to define social video vision and strategy, collaborating with editors, designers, and the larger HCM team to execute on it

Collaborate with cross‑departmental stakeholders to support editorial and branded content, events, and initiatives on social and drive membership signup

Prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion through your work in order to serve our diverse audience and community

Keep your finger on the pulse of social trends and happenings, Gen Z culture, and the competitive landscape

Manage a part‑time social video editor

Bachelor’s degree

3+ years of experience working in social media with a focus on video, preferably at a Gen Z/women’s digital media brand

Highly adept across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Facebook

Proficient in mobile video editing and experience using tools like Capcut, Prequel, Edits, Canva, etc.

Intermediate user of Adobe Premiere Pro

Confidence in filming and appearing in video content, e.g., Reels, TikToks, YouTube videos, etc.

Excellent writing and copyediting skills with rigorous attention to detail

Strong understanding of Her Campus Media as a whole, as well as of our main media brands Her Campus, Spoon University, and College Fashionista

Demonstrated ability and interest in working collaboratively with other departments, including community, events, branded content, integrated marketing, design, and more

Quick and efficient worker with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational and project management skills

Ability to function autonomously and complete projects and tasks without close management and supervision

Self-starter with a go‑getter attitude, positive and upbeat nature, and excellent work ethic who doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty

Passion for Her Campus Media, our mission, our audience of college women, and the job of serving as one of our social leads, growing our followings, and elevating our communities

Previous fashion and beauty‑related experience with industry brand contacts is a plus
