Location: Austin, Lubbock, San Juan, San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, Waco, TX. This position will work across the state of Texas, as needed, and will be managed by the Food and Nutrition Community Operations division.

Telework Option: TDA does not offer telework, and all employees are required to be physically present for work.

The Senior Administrative Review Specialist will work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment performing highly advanced administrative and supervisory program work. Responsibilities include providing training and technical assistance to Administrative Review Specialists (ARS) in all areas of an Administrative Review (AR) & Procurement Review (PR), ensuring consistency across the state, reviewing letters, preparing and submitting reports, reviewing AR/PR documents for accuracy, and conducting quality assurance on ARs/PRs.

Additional responsibilities: Conduct, lead and/or participate in follow-up ARs, complaint-related and close-out reviews of CEs participating in CNPs administered by TDA F&N; accompany/observe ARS and/or AFRS staff for on-site activities; serve as point of contact for ESC, USDA, and OIG staff; provide mentoring to ARS and AFRS staff; contribute to development of TDA F&N policies, training materials, and tools; provide technical assistance to division staff and other agencies; serve as subject matter expert for federal and state regulations; identify trends and recommend improvements; review and recommend changes to AR questions, tools, and forms; assist with reviewing Single Audit submissions; stay abreast of rules and regulations; and develop tools and monitor time management.

Qualifications/Requirements for the Position Bachelor’s degree (One year of work experience related to the essential duties may substitute for one year of college).

Five (5) years’ work experience in monitoring or evaluating programs or financial compliance.

Experience coordinating the work of others or serving in a team leader/senior role.

Valid Texas driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications Experience serving in a supervisory capacity.

Work experience in managing or monitoring Child Nutrition programs, Food Service, or a nutrition-related field.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to the program area; public administration and management techniques; statistical analysis processes; budget processes; research techniques; and program management processes and techniques.

Skill in identifying measures or indicators of program and staff performance; providing excellent customer service; preparing concise and accurate reports; using a computer and applicable software.

Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; establish goals and objectives; devise solutions; develop, evaluate and interpret policies and procedures; supervise work of others; exercise sound judgment; maintain confidentiality.

Physical Demands Normal office work environment and exposure to dust and allergens; involves sedentary work alternating with walking, standing, pulling, pushing, kneeling, stooping, bending, fine motor tasks, and lifting up to fifty pounds. Involves traveling by plane and/or car with up to 25% travel. Must work extended periods at a computer and may require extended hours, evenings, and weekends.
