
Director of Family and Community Engagement

The Director of Family & Community Engagement supports the mission of the Kearney Family YMCA by providing leadership for the full scope of family engagement, including Family Center operations, family programs, special events, member experience initiatives, and community engagement opportunities. Reporting to the Senior Director of Youth Programs, this role ensures operational excellence, staff development, and high‑quality family and community experiences across multiple platforms. The Director supervises Family Center staff and serves as an active member of the YMCA Leadership Team, fostering cross‑department collaboration to drive innovation, safety, belonging, and community impact.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in or equivalent, preferred.
Two or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
Ability to fulfill applicable licensing and regulatory requirements.
Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development and fundraising.
Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others.
Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
