Channel Manager, Rep as Portfolio Manager Program
AssetMark is seeking a dynamic Channel Manager to lead the growth and evolution of our Rep as Portfolio Manager platform, Advisor Managed Portfolios (AMP). This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, advisor relationships, and commercial execution — making it ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems through collaboration and technology.
You’ll serve as a key internal voice for the Advisor Managed Portfolios, partnering across Sales, Technology, Operations, and Compliance to shape the AMP roadmap and drive meaningful outcomes for advisors, broker‑dealer partners, and their clients.
This role is hybrid and open to candidates near Concord, CA | Charlotte, NC | Chicago, IL | Atlanta, GA | Phoenix, AZ.
What You’ll Do Channel Advocacy & Advisor Engagement Be the internal champion for advisors who actively manage client portfolios. You’ll gather and prioritize business needs from advisors, firms, and sales teams — translating them into platform requirements and ensuring advisor workflows are represented in every roadmap conversation. You’ll maintain strong relationships across BD, Hybrid RIA, Independent RIA, and Bank Trust channels to stay ahead of evolving investment management needs.
Product Strategy & Roadmap Ownership Define and maintain the AMP platform roadmap in partnership with field leadership, advisors, and investment teams. You’ll align platform enhancements with firm investment strategy, advisor productivity goals, client experience improvements, and regulatory requirements — with a focus on portfolio construction, model management, trading, and reporting capabilities.
Workflow Optimization Evaluate existing advisor workflows and identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce friction, and introduce automation. You’ll drive platform enhancements that meaningfully improve advisor efficiency and platform scalability.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration Act as the connective tissue between Operations, Compliance, Legal, Technology, and Wealth Solutions to deliver capabilities that meet business, regulatory, and investment policy requirements. You’ll also represent the Advisor Managed channel in governance forums, ensuring channel priorities are reflected in platform investment decisions.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement Track platform usage, advisor productivity, and workflow efficiency. Use data and qualitative feedback to refine capabilities, prioritize enhancements, and contribute to broader wealth platform transformation initiatives — including improvements to trading infrastructure and advisor desktop tools.
Risk & Compliance Alignment Ensure platform capabilities align with AssetMark and advisor firm requirements. Partner with oversight teams on trade supervision, client suitability controls, and compliance tooling.
What You Bring
3+ years of experience in financial services, with hands‑on experience with advisor‑facing trading tools and/or investment management; demonstrated track record of driving commercial outcomes through product management or channel partnerships
Strong knowledge of financial markets, including ETFs, mutual funds, fixed income, and equities
Deep understanding of separately managed accounts (SMAs) and UMA structures in the context of portfolio management
Sharp analytical and problem‑solving skills — comfortable working with both quantitative data and qualitative feedback to drive decisions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present recommendations clearly to audiences ranging from advisors to senior executives
Ability to build credibility quickly with sales teams, advisors, and external partners
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Bachelor’s degree required
Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $115,000-$135,000. This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job‑related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
