Assistant Director of Admissions Operations
Position Title: Assistant Director of Admissions Operations
Location: Appleton, WI (Hybrid)
Reports to: Director of Admissions Operations and Systems
The Assistant Director of Operations provides strategic leadership and oversight of Lawrence University’s Slate CRM ecosystem and maintains the operations for the Visit and Guest Experience. This role is responsible for system optimization, data governance, integrations, reporting infrastructure, and cross‑campus collaboration in support of enrollment strategy. Working closely with the Director of Operations, the Assistant Director drives innovation, efficiency, and data-informed decision-making across the recruitment and admissions lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic oversight of Slate configuration, architecture, and ongoing system enhancements to ensure alignment with institutional enrollment goals.
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of workflows, applications, event registration processes, communications, portals, dashboards, and reporting tools.
Oversee user access, permissions, and data governance standards to ensure system security, compliance, and data integrity.
Manage and enhance integrations between Slate, the Student Information System (SIS), and other campus platforms, including API development and data exchange processes.
Assist with cross‑functional initiatives, partnering with admissions and campus stakeholders to implement recruitment strategies, streamline operations, and improve user experience.
Develop and maintain a robust reporting and analytics framework that supports forecasting, enrollment analysis, and leadership decision‑making.
Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and operational efficiency within the admissions and enrollment lifecycle.
Provide high‑level troubleshooting and system analysis to proactively address issues and optimize performance.
Oversee the visit experience within the broader events portfolio, specifically planning, coordinating and executing larger‑scale event visits.
Collaborate and work closely with the Associate Director of Admissions Marketing Communications to coordinate recruitment campaign messaging.
Supervise Visit Coordinator (1) and optimize Slate‑hosted visits and events.
Collaborate with Admissions counselors and directors to execute guest experience.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Significant experience working with CRM systems; Slate experience is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing system configurations, integrations, and reporting environments.
Experience in event planning or high attention to detail and executing a guest experience (digitally and in person).
Experience leading cross‑functional projects and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education admissions or enrollment management.
Familiarity with HTML, SQL, and data querying tools.
Experience developing and maintaining APIs and system integrations.
Experience with SIS middleware solutions such as Constituo, Axiom, or iData (or comparable platforms).
Demonstrated experience advancing operational strategy through technology optimization.
