Position Overview Canvassers will support a client-facing grassroots campaign focused on improving quality of life through civic engagement, strategic advocacy, and leadership development. This role centers on door-to-door outreach, engaging residents in meaningful conversations that drive civic participation and community impact.
The ideal canvassers are passionate about social change, comfortable with face-to-face community engagement, and motivated by people-powered work. Candidates should be reliable, personable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while representing the campaign and Street Level Strategy with professionalism.

Drive Community Outreach: Conduct door-to-door canvassing to inform residents about local initiatives and key issues
Increase Civic Participation: Encourage community involvement through direct, one-on-one conversations
Educate & Empower Residents: Clearly explain relevant issues and how individuals can take action
Ensure Data Accuracy: Accurately log all canvassing activity in CRM systems (PDI) with strong attention to detail
Maintain Trust & Confidentiality: Handle all resident information professionally and ethically
Build Meaningful Connections: Address concerns, dispel misinformation, and turn conversations into impactful action

Represent the Campaign Professionally: Serve as a positive and informed representative in the field
Strengthen Community Relationships: Build rapport with residents by actively listening and responding to concerns
Inspire Local Leadership: Motivate community members to take an active role in their communities
Who You Are
Fluent in English and Spanish preferred and comfortable communicating with diverse communities
1–2 years of experience in canvassing, advocacy, or community outreach preferred
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect authentically with people
Detail-oriented with strong data-entry accuracy
Comfortable using digital tools for tracking and communication
Self-directed, reliable, and able to manage time effectively
Physically able to walk door-to-door for up to 4 hours with limited breaks
Have reliable transportation and can travel to canvassing sites
Preferred
Familiarity with or strong ties to the local community
Experience using Google Docs, Google Sheets, PDI Mobile Connect, or similar tools
Schedule & Duration First Training / Onboarding Date: April 18, 2026
Schedule:
Monday–Wednesday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM
Expectations
Team members must work a minimum of 20 hours per week
Availability for weekend shifts is required
Must be able to maintain predictable and reliable attendance
Must be able to work 5 days in-person during scheduled shift hours
Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends
Compensation & Benefits
$29/hour (part-time)
Mileage reimbursement for travel between canvassing sites
