FOX 35 Orlando is looking for a rock-star News Producer who thrives on the adrenaline of breaking news and the art of storytelling. We don't just want someone to fill a rundown; we want a creative powerhouse who can own big stories and elevate every segment they touch.
What You'll Do
Execute the Vision:
Responsible for the daily production of newscasts, from crafting the initial rundown to making split‑second editorial decisions in the control room.
Master the Craft:
Write compelling scripts, log/edit video, coordinate graphics, and ensure a superior command of broadcast grammar and style.
Lead the Booth:
Provide clear direction via IFB to anchors and field crews, maintaining a calm, assertive presence under the pressure of live television.
Collaborate & Create:
Work closely with Executive Producers, the assignment desk, and digital teams to ensure seamless coverage across all platforms.
Drive Innovation:
Think "outside the box" to find new, visually engaging ways to present information to our Central Florida audience.
What You'll Need
Experience:
2-3 years of experience as a newscast producer in a medium to major television market.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field.
Skills:
Expert news judgment, aggressive coverage instincts, and the ability to remain "calm in the storm."
Tech Savvy:
Familiarity with newsroom computer systems and video editing for script inclusion.
Flexibility:
Ability to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, to cover the news whenever it breaks.
