Job Description The
Communications Specialist II
is a hands‑on member of the Inventory Solutions internal communications team responsible for developing and delivering content that informs and engages our employees. This role combines content creation, channel management, and measurement to support business priorities and drive meaningful connection across our organization. The ideal candidate is a self‑directed communicator who thrives on storytelling, enjoys working across teams, and is energized by seeing the direct impact of communication on employee understanding and engagement.
What You’ll Do
Source information through interviews and research, write, edit, and deliver high-quality content that aligns with business priorities and drives employee engagement and understanding
Manage Inventory Solutions internal communications channels including the company intranet, bi‑weekly newsletter, targeted emails, and live and virtual events
Develop and maintain the Inventory Solutions internal communications editorial calendar
Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communications channels and campaigns; prepare and present regular performance reports
Maintain accurate mailing lists and manage email distributions using our email marketing platform
Collaborate with cross‑functional departments (Marketing, Product, Operations, etc.) to ensure consistent and coordinated messaging
Support special projects and initiatives owned by the internal communications team
Contribute fresh ideas to improve communications processes, channels, and employee engagement strategies

Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 2 years of professional writing and/or communications experience (internal communications, marketing communications, PR, or similar). The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience or 6 years’ experience in a related field.
Excellent writing and editing skills with a strong command of grammar, clarity, and narrative structure
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information in clear, compelling, and accessible ways
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently
Problem‑solving mindset and ability to work collaboratively across teams
Familiarity with communications technology platforms (content management systems, email marketing tools, analytics platforms).
Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint.
Demonstrated comfort with AI tools and a proactive approach to integrating them into daily work to enhance quality, efficiency, and output
Experience with light graphic design and video editing
Experience in fast‑paced, cross‑functional team environments
Preferred:
Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
Direct experience with internal communications, employee engagement, or similar employee‑focused communications
Experience with digital storytelling, multimedia content, or visual communications
Track record of implementing new communications initiatives or improving existing processes
Knowledge of the automotive or B2B business sectors
