Role Overview Runners Plus is seeking a Marketing Specialist to support and execute marketing initiatives across our three brands (Runners Plus, Spike Town, and Dayton Track Club) for brick and mortar retail, events, e-commerce, and community partnerships. This role helps bring the Runners Plus brand to life through digital marketing, in-store promotions, event support, and community engagement.

The position is intentionally flexible in scope and hours. Depending on experience and capability, the role may be structured as a part-time coordinator or a full-time marketing specialist with broader ownership of marketing initiatives.

Core Responsibilities The Marketing Coordinator will support marketing execution across several key areas:

Digital Marketing

Assist with email marketing campaigns

Lead social media content creation and posting

Help manage website updates and promotional banners

Assist with digital advertising coordination (Google, Meta)

Retail & In-Store Marketing

Coordinate in-store signage and promotions

Support seasonal marketing campaigns

Assist stores with promotional materials

Event & Community Marketing

Help promote group runs, training programs, and community events

Assist with race and expo marketing materials

Support partnerships with local organizations and running groups

Brand & Content

Assist with product launches and promotions

Help develop marketing assets such as graphics, flyers, and social media posts

Maintain consistency with Runners Plus brand voice and visuals

Expanded Responsibilities (Depending on Experience) For candidates with stronger marketing experience, the role may expand to include:

Planning and managing marketing campaigns

Ownership of email and social marketing calendars

Digital ad management and performance analysis

Marketing analytics and reporting

Coordination with brand partners on marketing initiatives

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is organized, creative, and comfortable supporting a fast-moving retail environment.

Strong candidates will demonstrate:

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Comfort with social media platforms and marketing tools

Interest in running, fitness, or community-driven retail

Experience with tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Shopify, Klaviyo, or similar platforms

Schedule & Compensation This role may be structured aspart-time or full-time depending on the candidate.

Hours

20–40 hours per week

Compensation

$18 – $28 per hour depending on experience and scope of responsibility
