
Strategic Supplier Leader

Position Overview
The Strategic Supplier Leader (SSL) serves as Schneider Electric’s primary point of contact for designated Strategic Supplier(s). Acting as the organization’s “One Voice,” the SSL manages the executive-level relationship with the supplier—including coordination with the SE Sponsor and supplier C‑Suite (up to CEO level). This role ensures strong bi‑directional communication, leads strategic supplier initiatives, drives performance, and oversees the execution of market-level strategies across all Schneider Electric entities.
Missions
Serve as the central liaison between Schneider Electric and the Strategic Supplier(s).
Conduct regular Business Reviews on behalf of all Schneider Electric entities.
Lead implementation of the supplier roadmap including business growth, innovation, technology expansion, and outsourcing opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities Relationship & Strategy Management
Act as the key contact to facilitate bi‑directional communication between Schneider Electric and the Supplier(s).
Align and agree on Supplier value proposals and multi‑year deployment plans.
Promote and communicate the Supplier’s strategy internally.
Consolidate business needs from BUs and Operations to identify development opportunities.
Negotiate supplier performance and productivity objectives.
Lead regular Business Reviews with suppliers and SE Sponsors.
Organize management‑level meetings to track strategic plan deployment.
Manage communication of all business awards.
Execute the market‑level strategy for the strategic supplier(s) in scope.
Serve as the escalation point for major issues.
Collaborate with Category Buyers to oversee operational activities.
Strategic Supplier Leadership in NAM
Own supplier performance across Productivity, Quality, On‑Time Delivery, Competitiveness, Innovation, Responsiveness, and Planet & Society responsibility.
Support supplier business development efforts.
Engage cross‑functional resources to resolve issues and drive improvement.
Monitor supplier capacity and investment plans.
Assess and communicate supplier risk.
Track and report supplier performance.
Maintain updated list of Category Buyers.
Performance Criteria
Achievement of strategic value proposal milestones.
Regional results across Supplier improvement initiatives.
Completion of regional Supplier performance assessments.
Annual target‑setting for Strategic Supplier(s).
Quality and accuracy of Supplier information within Schneider Electric systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Electronics Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in Supplier Relationship Management, Category Management, or Operational Procurement.
Proven ability to influence and collaborate across organizational levels.
Strong negotiation and Supplier Relationship Management skills.
Industrial or technical background preferred (plastics or metals).
Ability to drive performance and strategic execution.
Reporting to: Category Director.
