Senior Estimator – Ground‑Up Commercial Construction ($100M+ Projects)

Lead the full planning, coordination, and execution of estimating activities for large‑scale, ground‑up commercial construction projects—specifically those exceeding $100M in value. This role is responsible for preparing, interpreting, and presenting detailed and conceptual estimates while guiding the overall bid strategy.

Position Responsibilities and Duties Core Estimating Responsibilities Perform all standard Estimator duties with a focus on large, complex ground‑up commercial projects ($100M+) Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and requirements Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs, materials pricing, and labor/equipment cost assessments Develop conceptual estimates during early project phases Compare competitive trade bids and evaluate subcontractor proposals Prepare subcontractor bid lists and distribute drawings and bid documents Coordinate subcontractor solicitations, job walks, and scope reviews Participate in bid compilation and strategy on bid day Review preliminary quotes and pre‑bid estimates with the Project Manager Secure and organize all bid documents, including bid forms and quote letters Assist project teams with estimate clarification and scope alignment after bid award Perform post‑bid buyouts when applicable Submit requisitions for material purchases Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners Assist with supervising, mentoring, and training estimating staff as needed Maintain and meet all bidding schedules and deadlines
Minimum Skills and Experience Requirements Required Minimum 5 years of estimating experience Experience bidding ground‑up xsgimln commercial projects valued at $100M or more Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong judgment and mathematical accuracy in estimate development Demonstrated knowledge of construction means, methods, and cost structures Experience preparing quantity takeoffs, evaluating trade bids, and supporting purchasing activities Familiarity with conceptual estimating is preferred Drafting skills and proficiency with estimating and construction software tools
