Job Purpose
Reporting to the Executive Creative Director, the Creative Strategist for BBC StoryWorks Americas will collaborate across BBC Studios, sales, marketing, design, product, and editorial teams to ideate and pitch unique, multi‑platform content programs aligning with all BBC.com brands for clients across the Americas.
This role combines creativity, strategy, insights, and storytelling expertise to develop editorial sponsorship and branded campaigns that honor the BBC’s trusted voice while helping our partners achieve their messaging goals. You’ll help shape fresh, innovative ideas that resonate with audiences and drive measurable impact for advertisers.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Craft comprehensive and coherent campaign narratives from beginning‑to‑end in a pitch process.
Ability to align the right content strategy for clients against their stated KPIs.
Develop innovative branded content ideas that address client objectives while reflecting the BBC’s editorial standards and integrity.
Represent editorial sponsorship ideas with integrity in the overall pitch.
Craft pitch materials that consistently win new business and strengthen long‑term client relationships.
Work closely with cross‑functional teams — including sales, editorial, product, and design — to create strategic, audience‑driven responses to RFPs and proactive proposals.
Manage a creative hand‑off for approved concepts to production teams, ensuring alignment with the pitched vision is realised.
Partner with SW team leaders to shape budgets, timelines, and deliverables that set pre‑sales campaigns up for success.
Research and synthesize audience insights, trends, and data to inform creative strategy and strengthen proposals.
Support Senior Creative Strategists with project tracking, compliance reviews, and documentation for pitches in progress.
Knowledge, Skills, Training, And Experience
Knowledge
Deep understanding of multi‑platform editorial sponsorships and branded content, including digital, video, audio, social and experiential formats.
Keen understanding of B2B audiences and what influences them.
Flexible mindset to work in an “agency” within a publisher environment, balancing crafting a campaign solution with clarity about why the BBC is the right partner.
Experience developing insights‑driven narratives.
Familiarity with the digital media, advertising, and marketing landscape.
Awareness of innovative digital storytelling products and platforms, and social‑first content development.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling narratives.
Organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work cross‑functionally in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment.
Knowledge of audience engagement strategies and promotion/distribution best practices.
Professional Experience
5+ years of relevant experience, ideally within a digital publisher, agency, or branded content studio.
Background or education in marketing, brand strategy, creative writing, English, journalism, or a related field is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $110,000. This does not include bonus compensation or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licences held, and geographic location of the position.
