Business Development Representative (BRD)
StorageDefender is a market leader and rapidly growing, prop‑tech company focused on providing smart technology solutions for self‑storage facilities across the nation.
Summary
As a BDR at StorageDefender, you will directly contribute to our growth by building StorageDefender’s portfolio of new facility owners/operators. Success in this role will also provide future growth opportunities in the company’s sales organization.
Core Alignment
Passionate sales hunter: You’ll use your knowledge, enthusiasm and strong work ethic to generate prospects. Have experience in selling a business service in the self‑storage or equivalent commercial real‑estate space.
Results‑Driven: You have a track record of attaining and exceeding sales quota. The hunt for new facility partners and expanding business with existing operators drives you.
People‑person: Using your interpersonal skills and market insight, you’ll identify and cultivate prospective clients, and tailor offerings and services to meet the needs of existing customers.
Cold Caller / Appointment Setting: You will build and foster a pipeline of leads of national self‑storage operator prospects by cold‑calling with the objective of setting up meetings for your account executive.
Reliable & Self‑Directed: You operate independently and are resourceful as we are a growing start‑up.
Your Specific Responsibilities
Cold call, identify and develop new business opportunities in assigned geography and secure meetings.
Maintain CRM deal pipeline and database.
Contribute to a solid team player within the sales and business development organization.
Foster and work to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions.
Qualifications / Skills
Familiarity selling services to small‑to‑medium business, such as insurance, networking services, or security service. A bonus for those with familiarity selling smart technology, IoT solutions, or other technology‑related B2B sales.
Sales approach planning skills.
Knowledge of tech‑type products, including software / SaaS.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Ability to communicate concisely about our product and service.
Effective organizational skills.
Proficiency with using CRM Tools.
Interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
Lead generation and management experience.
Fast learner.
Enthusiasm and sincerity.
Education and Experience
1‑5 years sales experience.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field is desired.
Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Proficiency in using Sales/CRM Tools.
