Global Account Manager – Cogent Communications
Cogent Communications is a multinational, Tier 1 facilities‑based ISP, consistently ranked among the top five networks in the world. We provide businesses with high‑speed Internet access, private network services, IPv4 address leasing, optical transport, and data center colocation.
Compensation
Base salary: $19.23–$43.26 per hour ($40k–$90k per year) – starting
Commission: 50%–150% of one month’s MRCs; 1/12 of one‑time NRCs; 1/24 of bursts
Tenured base: $19.23–$52.88 per hour ($40k–$110k per year)
Responsibilities
Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed regional sales territory, targeting IP transit, content creators/hosters, carriers/wholesalers, and net‑centric companies.
Directly generate and qualify prospects through calling, emailing, and in‑person meetings.
Utilize consultative selling to uncover current and future connectivity needs.
Position Cogent’s global network assets to prospects and customers.
Qualifications
3–8 years of solid B2B sales experience in telecom, wholesale, or data transit.
Proven track record in direct hunting, quota achievement, and prospecting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to perform in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment with revenue deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems (preferred).
College degree preferred but not required.
Work Environment
This is an in‑office position, five days a week, designed to maximize mentorship, training, and coaching.
