We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Development Representative to join our growing team in the solar sector. As a BDR, your primary responsibility will be to identify and develop new business opportunities, fostering relationships with potential clients, and creating a pipeline for the sales team. Job Responsibilities
Research and identify potential clients in the solar industry
Engage with leads through cold calling, emails, in person office visits and networking events/tradeshows
Qualify leads based on their needs, business type (ideally EPC, owner, developer, financer, etc.), and timeline of procurement
Maintain a high level of knowledge about the company’s products, services, and the solar industry in general to effectively educate prospects
Stay up to date on industry trends, competitors, and market demands
Develop initial rapport with potential clients and build trust through regular follow-ups, communications and in-person interactions
Involve senior sales team members to assist in conducting in-depth consultations or project conversations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
1-2 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field; experience in the solar energy or renewable energy industry is desired, but not required
Committed to understanding the commercial and industrial, utility and energy storage solar market
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
Strong research skills and the ability to identify key decision-makers within potential client organizations
Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Self-starter with a results-driven attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong work ethic, integrity, and a desire to grow within a company
This is a remote position and between 50-75% travel to meet with customers and attend expos and trade shows.
