Central Maine (Field-Based, Mill-Facing)
We are supporting a long-standing specialty chemicals organization with a strong reputation in the pulp & paper industry. Due to continued growth and increased investment in this segment, the company is expanding its technical leadership team and adding a Senior Technical Account Manager (TAM) to support key paper mill accounts in central Maine.
This role is designed for an experienced pulp & paper professional who brings deep process knowledge, technical credibility, and strong customer presence.
Role Overview The Technical Account Manager serves as the senior technical authority for assigned paper mill customers. This individual works closely with customer engineering, operations, and leadership teams to ensure specialty chemical programs are delivering measurable operational and economic value.
This is not a field service or entry-level role. The TAM operates at a strategic and advisory level, partnering with internal service teams, sales leadership, and R&D to drive long-term customer success.
Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary technical point of contact for paper mill customers
Diagnose complex process and operational challenges within mill systems
Recommend, implement, and optimize specialty chemical programs
Lead technical reviews and business discussions focused on value creation
Quantify and clearly articulate performance improvements and cost savings
Collaborate closely with Sales, Service, Portfolio, and R&D teams
Provide customer feedback to support product development and innovation
Maintain consistent on-site presence to support retention and growth
Required Background & Experience This role requires real paper mill experience.
Ideal candidates will have:
10+ years of experience in pulp & paper manufacturing, process engineering, or specialty chemical technical support
Strong understanding of mill processes (wet end, paper machine, water systems, etc.)
Experience working directly with mill engineers and operations leadership
Ability to influence decisions through data, insight, and credibility
Comfort working independently and managing senior-level relationships
A bachelor’s degree in Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

Location & Travel Based in central Maine
Supports two primary customer locations initially
Approximately 25% travel, including occasional overnight stays
