Each service area, whether it's business insurance, workers' compensation management, disaster recovery, safety, personal insurance or human resources management, has its own practice leader who also works directly with clients on those specific issues.
Personal Lines Account Manager
Position Summary
The Personal Lines Account Manager is responsible for managing and servicing a portfolio of personal insurance accounts. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, providing coverage counseling, retaining existing clients, and identifying cross-selling opportunities. The Account Manager ensures all service activities are handled efficiently and in alignment with agency standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Client Service & Retention
Manage inbound and outbound client communications related to policy service, cancellations, and remarketing requests.
Review existing coverage with clients, provide professional counseling on current policies, and recommend additional or alternative coverage options when appropriate.
Proactively work to retain accounts by following up on cancellation requests and Broker of Record letters in accordance with agency procedures.
Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally, delivering accurate and timely service.
Assist clients with billing questions and payment-related matters as needed.
Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional lines of coverage within the existing client base.
Generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and proactive client engagement.
Gather required information to prepare accurate insurance quotes using agency-approved quoting systems.
Present and counsel clients on coverage options to ensure proper protection based on individual needs.
Prioritize placement of business with designated core carriers in alignment with agency strategy.
Policy Processing & Administration
Process account transactions including quotes, applications, binders, policy changes, rewrites, and new business submissions.
Modify and update existing policies and claims within the agency management system and carrier platforms.
Review applications and policy documentation for accuracy and completeness, correcting discrepancies as needed.
Document all client interactions, emails, and attachments in the agency management system according to agency standards.
Prepare required reports (daily, monthly, or as assigned).
Maintain strict confidentiality of client and company information.
Professional Representation
Represent the agency in a professional, ethical, and courteous manner at all times.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, carriers, colleagues, and business partners.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma required
Active Pennsylvania Property and Casualty license required
Minimum of 1 year of personal lines account management or related customer service experience
Working knowledge of personal insurance coverage forms, carrier products, and basic underwriting guidelines
Experience using agency management systems (Applied Epic preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to navigate carrier systems and quoting platforms effectively
Strong customer service orientation with a positive and professional attitude
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to listen actively and explain coverage clearly
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
Detail-oriented with high standards for accuracy
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
Ethical judgment and commitment to confidentiality
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm
