Account Manager – New York
Velocity Partners Ltd., New York, NY, United States
Do you have solid B2B marketing experience and a background (or interest) in tech?
If you’re an account person with experience managing client relationships and ensuring the successful execution of complex digital content programs and campaigns for B2B clients, this gig may be for you.
Velocity is a B2B agency made up of passionate marketers working with some of the most interesting tech companies in the world, from disruptive start-ups to the big brands. We’re always challenging our clients to take a stand on the issues that matter most to their audiences and to find cool, new (mostly digital) ways to do it.
Most of our team sits in London, but with a large chunk of clients in the States we’re expanding our NY team, fast.
We’re looking for someone who knows that the best work is done at the intersection of creativity, strategy and performance. Someone who can confidently serve as the primary or supporting owner across a variety of clients based out of North America. Someone smart, talented and motivated who wants to work with us to grow something special.
The role is based in New York City. We operate on a hybrid working model with one set day in our Midtown office per week. (Note: No relocation package is being offered at this time.)
As a Velocity Account Manager, you will: Work alongside some great people (marketers, writers, designers, campaign strategists, and the like) who are helping our clients navigating through the digital marketing labyrinth – and most importantly, getting them the results they need
Take a strategic brief and turn it into clear instructions for internal teams with realistic budgets and timescales for clients
Regularly communicate with clients to update them on project progress and results
Work closely with Projects Managers to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
Advise clients on the best choices to make across a variety of mediums and channels
Contribute to our wiki of product inspiration, market trends and content resources
What we’d like you to bring to Velocity: Some experience in B2B or tech marketing is essential
3-5+ years’ experience in a client-facing role with the ability to build client relationships
Background in delivering digital projects within another agency
The ability to work fast but with close attention to detail
Familiarity with all things digital
Good understanding of MS office and Google tools
Hunger to learn about tech markets and digital communications
Excellent communication skills, both on paper and verbally, with clients and colleagues
And in return, Velocity offers: Smart, kind, wonderful people (truly some of the best)
A great company culture
A hybrid work environment (with only one set day in our Midtown office per week)
A focus on personal development and an opportunity to work with really interesting brands and smart people – in an environment that’s growing
Lots of social stuff, both company-wide and driven by interest and hobby groups
25 PTO days
Nine public holidays
One volunteer day annually (to use however you like)
Time off between the holidays and the New Year
Paid sick and compassionate leave time
Benefits (healthcare, vision, dental, life, pet (!), parental leave, etc.)
A competitive salary (dependent on experience)
You might thrive in this role if you are: Client-centric. You are motivated to understand your customer’s priorities and business deeply. You build strong relationships everywhere you go and strive to be a trusted advisor.
Excited by new challenges. You don’t have the answers to every question up front, but the process of solving is what you’re eager to do. You’re a team player and down to roll up your sleeves to learn new things, solve complex problems and deliver top-quality work with matching results.
Comfortable in the driver’s seat. The best Account Managers are in control and able to spot bumps in the road. You come up with solutions and resolve hiccups before anyone’s even noticed.
Open to hybrid work and working with teams in other countries. You’re a master communicator and collaborator. You don’t shy away from managing a team in another time zone outside of NYC. You see it as a good opportunity to broaden your network and social group.
Likely to characterize yourself as smart, funny, capable and kind
We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status.
Here are some pieces we (lovingly) wrote that give you an idea of what it’s like to work for us. Spoiler: it’s pretty great.
It may sound all tree-huggy but it turns out culture matters. A lot. So we tried to capture ours.
