Campaign Manager in CA-11 (San Francisco) Full-Time | Based in California’s 11th Congressional District About the Campaign A candidate in CA-11 (San Francisco) is running to represent the seat of retiring Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi. The candidate is running as a moderate, the only common sense candidate in the race. This race will require a campaign that is disciplined, strategic, and built to win in a high-information, politically engaged district. Position Overview The Campaign Manager will serve as the senior strategist and day‑to‑day leader of the campaign. This person will be responsible for building and executing the campaign plan through Election Day while managing staff, consultants, budget, and performance metrics. This role requires a disciplined operator who understands how fundraising, field, communications, digital, and targeting work together. You must be comfortable building systems, holding teams accountable, and adapting quickly in a fast‑moving political environment. Core Responsibilities Draft and implement a comprehensive campaign plan, including fundraising, voter outreach, communications, coalition engagement, and earned media. Develop a detailed timeline with clear benchmarks and measurable goals. Build weekly reporting dashboards to track fundraising, voter contact, volunteer recruitment, and communications performance. Ensure message discipline across all platforms. Budget & Finance Oversight: Draft, manage, and regularly update the campaign budget and cash flow projections. Oversee implementation of the fundraising plan, including call time, digital fundraising, events, PAC outreach, and coalition support. Track NGP/ActBlue reporting and ensure financial goals are met or exceeded. Voter Contact & Field: Develop and execute a comprehensive voter contact program (doors, phones, text, mail, digital). Oversee targeting strategy and universe development using VAN and voter file analytics. Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and field staff. Monitor performance metrics and adjust tactics as needed. Communications & Political: Coordinate with communications and digital vendors to maintain message consistency. Draft press materials and prepare the candidate for media opportunities. Build and maintain relationships with local elected officials, community leaders, labor, advocacy groups, and key stakeholders. Advance and staff the candidate at events and public appearances. Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, and manage campaign staff and consultants. Run weekly senior staff meetings and strategy sessions. Create a culture of accountability, urgency, and collaboration. Keep the candidate on schedule and focused on high‑impact activities. Qualifications Required Experience At least one full cycle of staff‑level experience on a competitive campaign; senior leadership experience preferred. Demonstrated success managing fundraising programs and budgets. Proven experience overseeing voter contact programs and targeting strategy. Strong understanding of California political dynamics (Congressional experience preferred). Technical Fluency VAN and voter file targeting workflows. NGP and ActBlue fundraising tracking. Texting platforms (Hustle or similar). Digital performance metrics and paid media coordination. Strong Excel or Google Sheets budgeting and forecasting skills. Experience building weekly metrics dashboards. Leadership Skills Strong project management and organizational ability. Clear goal‑setting and accountability systems. High attention to detail. Ability to problem‑solve and adapt quickly. Comfort working long hours, including evenings and weekends. High‑energy, team‑oriented leadership style. Physical & Schedule Requirements Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while operating a computer and office equipment. Ability to move within an office and event spaces as needed. Flexibility to work extended hours, including 6–7 days per week during peak periods. Ability to travel within the district as required. Compensation Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Range will reflect demonstrated fundraising capacity and senior‑level leadership experience.
