The Client Relationship & Business Development Specialist supports client engagement, partnership fulfillment, and revenue-generating activities across the Investments & Wealth Institute’s certifications, education programs, sponsorships and Foundation. This role works closely with the Director of Client Relationship Management and the Global Director of Business Development to ensure client commitments are secured, benefits are delivered, and prospective opportunities are effectively advanced through the sales pipeline. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable supporting both client relationships and business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Client Relationship Support Support the cultivation and maintenance of strong relationships with corporate partners and institutional clients, with opportunities to progressively build and manage individual relationships over time.
On an ongoing basis, confirm and track fulfillment of contracted sponsorship, certification, and education benefits to ensure commitments are met.
Coordinate with internal teams (conferences, marketing, education, certification) to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of client benefits.
Respond to client inquiries and assist with issue resolution in a timely and professional manner.
Provide on-site and virtual client support during Institute events as needed.
Assist with renewal coordination for corporate partnerships and clients.
Agreements, Documentation & Reporting Generate, edit, distribute, and manage proposals, agreements, and invoices, and follow up with clients to secure completed and executed documentation in a timely manner.
Coordinate agreement updates with General Counsel as needed.
Track executed agreements, required documentation, and follow up on outstanding payments. Maintain proper storage of fully executed agreements and invoices in designated shared files.
Maintain accurate CRM (HubSpot,SalesForce, Fonteva) records of client interactions, opportunities, and account status.
Assist with sales reporting, renewal tracking, and client engagement metrics. Ensure timely data entry and progression of opportunities through the sales funnel in HubSpot and SalesForce.
Business Development Support Assist the Global Director of Business Development with follow-up on prospective sponsors, partners, and certification leads.
Support prospecting activities, including research and preparation of outreach lists.
Create and manage outreach sequences within HubSpot.
Respond to and follow up on inbound inquiries related to sponsorships, certifications, and Institute programs.
As the role develops, take ownership of business development revenue opportunities, managing assigned prospects through the full sales pipeline—from initial outreach through close.
Systems, Process & Collaboration Work within HubSpot, SalesForce, Fonteva, and related systems to track sales activity and support streamlined processes.
Collaborate cross-functionally to support the full sales lifecycle—from prospecting and renewal through agreement execution and benefit fulfillment.
Identify opportunities to improve documentation, reporting, and workflow efficiency.
Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or a minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting sales, client relationship management, or business development functions.
Experience working within a CRM system(or Association Management System)(HubSpot or SalesForce preferred).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
High attention to detail and deadline-oriented.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe PDF tools.
Ability to build rapport, uncover client needs, and deliver a high-quality client experience.
Tenacious, results-oriented, and intellectually curious.
Collaborative team player with a professional presence aligned with the Institute’s brand.
Commitment to ongoing learning through online courses and professional development in the financial services industry, with the ability to apply acquired knowledge to support client conversations and advance the Institute’s sales and engagement objectives.
This position is eligible for remote work. Colorado residents preferred.
