Rainbow Dome is seeking a full-time (32 hours/week) Marketing Manager to lead our marketing and communication strategy, primarily by implementing it across Rainbow Dome’s communication platforms (i.e. Instagram, Newsletters, and Website). The ideal candidate will have a passion for joyful and playful storytelling, using references and examples that speak to the experiences of a diverse audience, particularly people who identify as Queer; People of the Global Majority; disabled and neurodivergent; and artists and creatives. They will have a proven ability to communicate clearly, precisely, and compassionately on behalf of the organization with the goal to expand our audience base. They advocate for more equitable and accessible communication solutions, with attention to image descriptions, access guides, and user experience, proactively learning new tools to stay ahead of the curve in an ever-changing technology environment. They will be committed to getting results in a fast-paced, changing environment without sacrificing quality, and have the resilience to navigate setbacks with an eye toward new communication tactics and advertising opportunities. Who We Are Rainbow Dome, an artist-led, queer-centric hub that gathers people across differences to experience joy-in-motion through art and activities. Rollerskating being our foundational activity for connection. Rainbow Dome’s audience shares experiences of intersectionality and marginalization within the dominant culture of the US, and include people who identify as Queer; Black, Brown, & Indigenous; disabled and neurodivergent; and artists and creatives. Rainbow Dome formed out of a need for a social space for marginalized communities that centers joy and play as catalysts for authentic social connection. Rainbow Dome’s programming is threefold: Art of Gathering: Produce human-centered events to invite our audience to experience joy-in-motion. One of our primary activities is roller skating. Creative World Building: Fabricate artwork to elevate our audience’s experience of joy and support imagination and new possibilities Platforms for Artists & Creatives: Build a movement with artists and community members to foster shared abundance of resources Rainbow Dome is a start-up LLC that will undergo a major transition in 2026, going from producing pop-up events in the spring to opening our flagship roller rink in the fall. Our organizational structure is sociocratic and uses consent based decision-making, requiring a high level of self-management. At this stage of the company, we are working towards becoming financially sustainable and profitable by 2027. We center in person culture: through (1) our events as hosts for our audience; (2) fabrication of artwork in our studio; and (3) collaboration across our team. What You’ll Do The Marketing Manager reports to the Marketing & Communication Circle and is responsible for the following: Serving as Lead of the Marketing & Communications Circle, steering the overall marketing strategy to meet Rainbow Dome’s programming goals (once the flagship rink is open) to engage approximately 1,500 to 1,800 people weekly. Supporting Programs & Fabrication Circles in communicating Rainbow Dome’s story with our audiences by implementing Rainbow Dome’s marketing strategy across all platforms: Organizing Documentation Archive (Google Drive); Posting & Responding on Instagram; Crafting Newsletters (MailChimp); Update Website (Wix, in process to launch a new website and may switch platforms); Maintaining Online Databases (Google Reviews, Yelp, etc.); Planning Advertisements (radio, digital, etc.); Writing and disseminating Press Releases Building and maintaining strategic relationships with our audience, press relations, community partners, aligned organizations, advertisers, donors, and sponsors Participating as a member of Rainbow Dome through working some events (weekend & evenings), engaging in the sociocratic structure through ongoing learnings, and shaping the policies and strategic direction of Rainbow Dome. Who You Are & Keys to Success To be successful in this job, you will excel in five areas: Approaches work with a joyful attitude with an orientation towards fun. Mastery of communications strategy: Develops mission-driven plans to reach target audiences and achieve results. Demonstrated track record with media relations, branding, digital marketing, writing, public speaking, and web/social media. Produces compelling written and digital materials: Aims for accuracy and attention to detail. Can learn, internalize, and incorporate our “voice” across platforms. Organizes and shares information effectively — whether writing a newsletter, copy for the website, or an Instagram caption. Have basic skills in graphic design and experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, and Procreate Manages a high volume of work with efficiency: Has, or can create, a system for keeping tasks from slipping through the cracks. Able to juggle competing demands and prioritize without sacrificing quality. Plans backwards to make deadlines. Asks for help when needed. Entrepreneurial and resourceful: Consistently overcomes challenges and leverages resources to creatively solve problems. Proposes solutions to issues without much guidance (but isn’t afraid to ask questions). Proactively asks for help, anticipates problems, and course-corrects where needed. Flexible and willing to learn as the company changes and goes into uncharted territory. The position is full-time (32 hours/week), salaried exempt, and is based in Denver, Colorado. Rainbow Dome’s uses sociocracy as our governance system and organizational structure, which organizes areas of work into circles. Every full time employee is expected to be in at least three circles, and to hold at least one lead position in a circle. Circle meetings will be held between the hours of 10am to 4pm, and are currently scheduled on Thursdays and Fridays with asynchronous work happening between meetings. The position will require a personal phone (Rainbow Dome provides a cell phone stipend) and reliable transportation (public transit, cyclists, etc. welcome). The salary for this position ranges from $57,764 to $59,200, with exact salary depending on Rainbow Dome’s compensation matrix. We also offer benefits such as three weeks (96 hours) paid time off and cover 70% of the employee’s premium for health insurance plans through Kaiser.
