Position Summary The Director of Marketing & Communications leads TSAE’s marketing, communications, and brand strategy to advance the association’s mission, strengthen member engagement, and promote the value of TSAE programs and services. This role develops integrated marketing strategies that support membership growth, event participation, and industry visibility while ensuring consistent, high-quality communications across all TSAE platforms. The Director collaborates with staff, volunteers, and external partners to position TSAE as a leading voice in the association industry and contributes to the delivery of high-quality conference and event experiences. Key Responsibilities Marketing Strategy & Campaign Leadership Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that promote TSAE programs, events, membership, and partnerships. Lead marketing campaigns across digital, print, and event channels including website, email, social media, publications, and online community platforms. Establish marketing priorities, campaign timelines, and project workflows to support organizational goals. Analyze campaign performance and engagement metrics to improve marketing effectiveness and audience reach. Brand & Content Strategy Serve as steward of the TSAE brand, ensuring consistent voice, messaging, and visual identity across all communications. Oversee editorial strategy and production of TSAE communications including newsletters, digital content, publications, and member communications. Maintain editorial and style standards to ensure clarity, professionalism, and consistency across communications. Develop written content such as articles, speeches, scripts, and industry communications highlighting TSAE initiatives and thought leadership. Digital Presence & Member Engagement Oversee TSAE’s digital platforms including the website, social media channels, online member community, and marketing automation systems. Manage digital content strategy to enhance member engagement and support recruitment and retention efforts. Monitor analytics and engagement data to inform communications and marketing strategy. Event Marketing & Conference Experience Lead marketing and communications strategies for TSAE signature events including the Annual Conference and educational programs. Collaborate with staff and vendors to develop event branding, promotional campaigns, signage, and attendee communications. Support planning and execution of general conference sessions including speaker coordination, presentation management, and stage direction. Assist with stage management during key sessions to ensure smooth program flow, including coordinating slide transitions, speaker timing, and audiovisual production. Work with event vendors including A/V providers, designers, photographers, and digital platform providers to deliver a cohesive conference experience. Media Relations & Industry Visibility Serve as TSAE’s primary contact for media inquiries and public relations initiatives. Build relationships with industry media and association partners to promote TSAE activities and thought leadership. Identify opportunities to enhance TSAE’s visibility within the association management community. Partnerships, Vendors & Collaboration Manage relationships with marketing and communications vendors including graphic designers, publishers, web developers, and digital platform providers. Collaborate with internal staff and strategic partners to ensure marketing commitments and sponsorship deliverables are fulfilled. Support cross-department collaboration to align communications with TSAE strategic priorities. Research, Reporting & Organizational Support Support development and promotion of TSAE research reports, studies, and industry publications. Manage departmental marketing and communications budgets and performance metrics. Prepare reports and updates for TSAE leadership and Board of Directors as needed. Provide on-site support for TSAE events and initiatives. Education Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field preferred. CAE designation or association experience is highly desirable. Experience Minimum three years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, or publication management. Experience developing marketing campaigns and managing multi-channel communications. Association or nonprofit experience strongly preferred. Skills Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities. Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Experience with content management systems, email marketing platforms, social media management tools, and marketing analytics. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Microsoft Office. Interest in live event production and conference programming, including speaker coordination and general session stage management.
