Voted City Business Best Places to Work.* Great opportunity for advancement.At Commtech, a New Charter Company, we are seeking a Business Development Representative (in other companies this person could hold the title of Sales Engineer, Outside Sales, Technical Sales, IT Services Sales) to drive new business growth through proactive outbound sales and relationship leadership.In this role, you will run the entire front half of the sales cycle, prospecting, discovery, solution orchestration, proposal, and close. You’ll lead the relationship end-to-end and bring in a Sales Engineer when deeper technical discovery or solution design is needed. You’re accountable for momentum, next steps, and signatures.To be successful in this role, you will generate qualified meetings through cold calling, email, and LinkedIn outreach, lead structured discovery conversations to uncover business drivers and stakeholder alignment, and coordinate technical scoping when needed. You will translate findings into clear proposals and statements of work, manage objections and commercial terms, and maintain accurate CRM hygiene to ensure reliable forecasting and strong handoffs to delivery. If you meet around 70% of the qualifications and are excited about this role, we encourage you to apply. **General job duties include:****Required Experience:**Resilient and persistent mindset with the ability to handle rejection, adapt quickly, and maintain high activity levels in outbound prospecting. Strong written and verbal communication skills with confident phone presence. **Preferred Experience:**Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or equivalent professional experience. 1–2+ years in a BDR/SDR, AE-lite, or full-cycle outbound B2B sales role. Proficiency with CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce. Experience in IT services, MSP, or adjacent technology services. Knowledge with common IT infrastructure and support service, including cloud, cybersecurity, help desk, or networking concepts. Familiarity with sales engagement and data tools such as Salesloft, Outreach, ZoomInfo, or Apollo. Knowledge of the Greater New Orleans business community. **Compensation:**The compensation is expected to start at $55,000, plus commission.
