We’re seeking an Art Director/Experiential to support a leading entertainment company’s creative team. This role offers the opportunity to lead the visual design of a large-scale immersive experience, and involves developing a cohesive artistic vision. Providing a chance to make a significant impact on an innovative project that brings animated worlds into physical spaces. This is a 1‑year contract role which needs to be hybrid with their LA office. The application deadline for this role is Feb 20, 2026.
Art Director Responsibilities
Lead the overall creative vision and visual direction for a 13,000‑square‑foot immersive experience, ensuring consistency and storytelling impact.
Translate animated IP aesthetics into engaging three‑dimensional environments, maintaining style, tone, and emotional resonance.
Design immersive settings, including scenic elements, props, graphics, and lighting, that support narrative flow and thematic depth.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of designers, vendors, and production partners to align on visual outputs and project scope.
Oversee the development of concept art, environmental illustrations, signage, and detailed design elements, ensuring quality and fidelity from concept through installation.
Art Director Qualifications
Proven experience in visual storytelling, environment design, or art direction within experiential or themed entertainment projects.
Strong skills in translating 2D animation or film aesthetics into physical environments, preserving style and brand integrity.
Leadership ability to guide creative teams and external vendors, providing clear direction and feedback.
Knowledge of set dressing, scenic design, CMF palettes, and environmental storytelling.
Ability to work effectively within brand guidelines while delivering innovative design solutions.
