With a primary focus on engaging prospects and acquiring new business, the Business Development Representative will leverage JEAR product and service offerings to present innovative supply chain and logistics solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Consult, educate and simplify supply chain practices through an innovative, web-based platform
Streamline in and outbound processes, providing customized solutions
Lead presentations with leadership of businesses with frequent shipping volume
Partner with the operations and account management teams for optimal customer satisfaction
Solution selling; effectively present solutions through cost-benefit analysis
Build pipeline of new opportunities as well as engage prospects at the C-Suite level
Present a streamlined technology solution developing a detailed analysis of customized needs in challenging areas and lanes
Take the lead in coordinating/developing/managing all aspects of the proposal process
Close, activate and train decision makers on our exclusive shipping platform
Business Development and Advisory Responsibilities
Evaluate and strategize market opportunities, customer segments, seasonality trends and advise brokers and leadership on growth opportunities
Act as an internal partner to Logistics Executives, advising on deal and customer positioning, as well as new business qualification decisions
Participate in on-site customer meetings as needed for strategy development, or evaluation of operational fit (periodic travel may be required).
Recommend enhancements to business development processes based on performance data, customer feedback, and strategic evaluation.
Use independent judgement to recommend ways to streamline and improve systems, tools, and resources.
Training and Support:
Lead and support continuous training, workshops and coaching sessions that increase the efficiency of Logistics Executives acquiring and closing new customers
Support in closing Logistics Executive gaps as it pertains to improving the general sales approach, negotiation capabilities, and general customer effectiveness.
Look for and present business growth strategies with leadership and Logistics Executives
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (LEs, leadership, Operations and Support) to evaluate and strategize business growth and the customer acquisition process
Act as a liaison between Logistics Executives and potential new customers giving insights into interactions and operational strategy

QUALIFICATIONS
1+ years of experience in business development, sales, customer service
Experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain preferred
