Emery Pharma is a full-service Contract Research Organization (CRO) that delivers scientific solutions to provide analytical services, bioanalysis support, support IND submissions, and enable drug substance and drug product analysis. Position Overview The Business Development Associate position will be responsible for helping to develop and foster client relationships. This individual will be the first point of contact with the client, may assist with the development of proposals for clients in collaboration with the scientific team, as well as sales of our contract services such as bioanalysis support, analytical characterization services, structural elucidation, microbiology, cell biology, and assessment of pharmaceuticals, including mAbs, recombinant proteins, and small molecules within R&D and GLP/cGMP environment. We are seeking someone with a B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field. Previous sales experience within a Contract Research Organization (CRO) environment is a strong plus. You will play a supportive role in advancing our market presence and drive growth of the organization. This position will report directly to the Business Development Manager. Essential Job Functions Make initial contact and follow through with inbound leads Coordinate introductory meetings with our scientific team to scope out projects Supporting proposal development and client’s requests for proposals (RFPs) in collaboration with Business Development Manager Support new scopes of work development within the current project environment Works collaboratively with Emery Pharma scientific team to promote Emery Pharma’s services to companies in biotech/pharma Tracks sales activities of inbound and ongoing projects Performs other duties including attending trade shows and present capabilities General understanding of the drug development market in assigned region including target companies, size of market and emerging technologies/modalities etc. Develop and maintain high-level client relationships through regular meetings Work with members of the business development team and operations to drive business Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities Work interactively and cooperatively with all functions of the company and with senior staff to help achieve the company’s vision These job requirements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel. Requirements Position will be full time onsite Position will require some travel but will be based mostly based in the San Francisco Bay Area Experience working at a contract research organization is a strong plus 2-3 years of pharmaceutical industry experience Strong analytical background, as well as some knowledge of cGMPs, ICH, relevant FDA guidelines, and some understanding of the drug development process Candidate should be a strong team player with excellent oral and written communication skills Appropriate technical experience of relevant laboratory techniques within a regulated environment Contact Us Emery Pharma has a competitive compensation and benefit package including 90% of health, dental, and vision premiums, 401k retirement plan with company contribution, and quarterly performance bonuses.
