We are seeking a motivated individual that is focused on building loyalty, identifying new prospects, and ensuring farmers are up to date on grain marketing and risk management strategies. In short, your goal is to simplify grain marketing decisions for the producer with a distinct focus on profitability, historical probability, cash flow needs, and local cash markets – providing value and driving ROI back to the farmgate and communities our growers live in.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborate with Landus Teams on relationship management
Consult growers about tools, working offers, and marketing plan implementation
Challenge farmers to develop break-evens, ROI goals, and a business-centric mindset
Educate growers on risk management strategies drive execution and remove emotion
Influence by using expertise and passion to exceed expectations - under promise and over deliver
Execute on-farm visits to deepen producer relationships
Grow relationship with customers to the point of ‘trusted advisor’ role
Develop new customers to grow existing grain and agronomy customer base
Maintain up to date customer information in contact management software system
Communicate to clients on market changes, research, information, strategies, trends, filled orders, etc.
Assist growers in specific implementation of complex and/or new grain marketing strategies
Contact customers in a timely manner regarding availability to answer questions, return calls/texts, etc.
Participate in initiatives promoting individual growth - seminars, trainings, presentations, etc.
Contribute to sales/merchandising/growth meetings on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Finance, Business, Economics, or Agribusiness required
Ability to obtain professional licenses; Series 3, crop insurance license, and/or merchandising certificates
Prior sales/client relations/brokerage/origination/merchandising experience preferred
Proven ability to cultivate & sustain relationships via phone/face-to-face/written communication
Strong prospecting and lead generation skills (networking, seminars, cold calling, team selling)
Energy and passion to excel in a high-stress and fast-paced work environment
Willingness to occasionally travel to visit customer farms and attend company events
