
Media Manager + Field Hockey Coach

Texas Pride Field Hockey, LLC is a premier youth travel field hockey organization based in Houston, Texas. We are seeking a passionate, driven, and multi-talented individual to join our team in a dynamic dual role as Media Manager and Travel Team Coach. This position is ideal for a field hockey professional who combines a love for the sport with strong creative and digital media skills.
This is a full‑time position located in Houston, TX. Relocation is required. We have a flexible start date between now and August and are willing to work with the right candidate.
Role 1: Media Manager
The Media Manager will be responsible for building and executing Texas Pride Field Hockey's digital presence across all platforms. This includes developing a cohesive content strategy, producing high-quality video content, and growing our community both online and within the field hockey world.
Social Media Strategy & Management
Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X (Twitter)
Plan, create, and schedule engaging content that highlights players, games, events, and organizational news
Grow Texas Pride's online following and foster an active, engaged community
Monitor analytics and performance metrics; adjust strategy based on insights
Manage responses to comments, messages, and community engagement
Stay current with social media trends, especially within youth sports and field hockey
Content Creation & Videography
Film and edit highlight reels, game recaps, player spotlights, and promotional videos
Create compelling visual content including graphics, photos, and short-form video (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)
Manage and maintain Texas Pride's video archive and digital media library
Develop content for recruiting and player development purposes
Coordinate with coaching staff to capture key practices, events, and milestones
Produce seasonal recaps and marketing materials for club promotion
Role 2: Travel Team Coach
The Field Hockey Coach will be responsible for the development, training, and competitive performance of Texas Pride's U14, U16, and U19 travel teams. The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and a player-centered coaching philosophy.
Coaching Responsibilities
Plan and lead practices, conditioning sessions, and skill development programs for U14, U16, and U19 age groups
Coach teams during travel tournaments and competitive events, including weekends and regional travel
Develop age-appropriate training curricula aligned with USA Field Hockey standards
Provide individualized feedback and mentorship to help players reach their potential
Collaborate with other coaches and club staff to ensure consistency in player development
Manage team rosters, tryouts, and player evaluations
Communicate regularly with parents and families regarding team expectations, schedules, and player progress
Foster a culture of teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth
Qualifications & Requirements
Media & Content
Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts for a brand, team, or organization
Proficiency in or willing to learn video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar)
Photography and videography skills; experience with sports content is a plus
Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
Ability to create content independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Coaching
Playing and/or coaching experience in field hockey at the high school, club, or collegiate level
USA Field Hockey coaching certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Experience working with youth athletes, particularly in competitive travel or club settings
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with players, parents, and staff
Valid driver's license and ability to travel with teams to tournaments
General
Must be willing to relocate to Houston, TX prior to start date
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and tournament weekends
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine passion for field hockey
