Our partner, a manufacturer of rugged computing solutions supporting mission-critical defense and commercial applications, is seeking a Product Marketing Manager to join their team in Sugar Land, Texas. This is a newly created role and the organization’s first dedicated marketing hire focused on product positioning, go-to-market strategy, and sales enablement. The Product Marketing Manager will play a key role in shaping how the company communicates its products to the market, from competitive messaging and product launch campaigns to datasheets, sales tools, and trade show presence. This role sits within the company’s Product organization, working closely with Product Managers as a strategic partner, and reports directly to the President. The position is full-time onsite at the company’s headquarters in Sugar Land, TX, and some travel will be required. About the Role Our partner is seeking a product marketer who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. The ideal candidate will have the ability to translate complex technical products into clear, compelling messaging that resonates with defense engineers, procurement teams, and program managers. Because this role represents the company’s first dedicated product marketing position, the individual will help build the function largely from the ground up. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating without a predefined playbook while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across Product, Engineering, and Sales. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain clear positioning and messaging for the company’s embedded and rackmount computing product families. Translate technical specifications into customer-focused value propositions that resonate with engineers and program managers. Ensure consistent and compelling messaging across all customer touchpoints. Own go-to-market strategy and execution for new product launches and major product updates. Coordinate across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Operations to ensure launch readiness. Develop launch plans including messaging, content, PR strategy, and sales enablement. Create launch materials in collaboration with internal marketing resources and external vendors. Track and report on product launch performance and market reception. Build and maintain a library of sales tools, including presentations, one-pagers, capability briefs, and configuration guides. Partner with Sales to identify friction points in deals and develop content that helps move opportunities forward. Train sales teams on product positioning, messaging, and competitive differentiation. Support customer-facing materials for proposals, conferences, and key account meetings. Content & Digital Manage product-related content across the company’s website and digital channels. Contribute to the organization’s overall brand voice and positioning within the rugged computing market. Support digital campaigns, advertising initiatives, and trade show materials. Monitor analytics and provide insights to improve marketing performance. Monitor industry trends and the competitive landscape. Provide market insights to support product roadmap discussions. Gather and synthesize customer insights from Sales, technical support, and customer interactions. Represent the organization at trade shows and industry events. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business, or a related field. 3–5 years of experience in product marketing, technical marketing, or a related role. Experience marketing complex technical products such as hardware, defense electronics, or industrial technology. Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into clear and compelling customer messaging. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce datasheets, executive briefs, and sales presentations. Strong design and creative skills with an eye for impactful visuals. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Adobe tools. Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities. Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Proven experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience in defense, aerospace, or government technology markets. Familiarity with rugged computing or defense electronics. Background in technical sales or applications engineering. Experience working with defense primes or U.S. government customers.
