Job Description
The Vivitrol Marketing Intern will support execution of marketing strategies for the Vivitrol Marketing Team, reporting directly to the Associate Director for Market Development and Brand Strategy. Vivitrol is an injectable product approved by the FDA for the treatment of alcohol dependence or the prevention of relapse to opioid dependence.
Projects may include:
Coordinating with analytics teams to identify relevant sales/market trends in key territories;
Building pivots and graphs to uncover and communicate key insights;
Supporting sales/marketing strategy meetings;
Supporting the execution of digital marketing to selected geographies or customer groups;
Working to streamline materials management and fulfillment for the field;
Supporting annual brand planning process.
The selected candidate will experience a highly cross‑functional environment and contribute to a patient‑centric product team. (S)He will gain exposure to content development, to the promotional content review process, to digital marketing, and to the process of developing a comprehensive brand plan. The intern will engage with functions including Marketing, Commercial Operations, Sales, Analytics, Patient Access Services, and external vendors.
This internship encourages and requires consideration of a multitude of stakeholder viewpoints before arriving at a recommendation. Opportunity to build presentation skills may be found based on the candidate’s level of interest and ability.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Candidates should have completed 2 or more years of university level education.
Candidates should demonstrate a history of relevant coursework in Marketing, Business, or similar fields; and/or a solid working familiarity with core marketing concepts; and an interest in the practical application of these principles to a complex product.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to communicate professionally in advanced English.
Candidates should be comfortable with the Microsoft Suite of tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
This internship requires comfort seeking information and help, the ability to communicate outcomes and actions, time management, and strong critical‑thinking skills.
Academic major/concentration is not restricted to business or marketing degrees, but a candidate who would most benefit from this internship has an interest in a career in marketing or a related field, the pharmaceutical business, or similarly highly‑regulated business areas.
A strong candidate will demonstrate moderate‑to‑strong skills in Microsoft Excel functions (specifically: graphing, pivots, index matching, V‑lookup) and Microsoft PowerPoint. The intern will be expected to communicate in a professional manner to stakeholders throughout the organization, and will become comfortable utilizing Microsoft Outlook.
Working Conditions
This internship is based in Waltham, with a hybrid in‑office model. The intern will be expected live in the office minimally 3 days/week. Specific days may be negotiable, but Tues‑Thur is the strongly encouraged model.
The office is most easily reached by car, but is also accessible by shuttle from Alewife.
This internship does NOT provide any exposure to R&D or to a lab environment.
