Wyoming Athletics Marketing & Fan Experience Internship
Job Purpose
The Wyoming Athletics Marketing Intern is part of the Marketing and Fan Experience team. We are looking for proactive and responsible students to assist with the overall execution of marketing initiatives and promote the Wyoming Athletics brand on and off campus.
Marketing interns will assist in creating memorable experiences for Wyoming fans and help with the overall objectives of the Marketing and Fan Experience team to promote all 17 sports at the University of Wyoming. Interns will be expected to have regular office hours (4 hours a week) and help with gamedays for Wyoming Athletics events including soccer, volleyball, football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, wrestling, swimming & diving, and tennis. The ideal intern is positive, eager to learn, proactive, team-oriented, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop fan affinity for the Wyoming Athletics brand through various initiatives including the Wyoming Kids Club, student engagement, and outreach to Cowboys/Cowgirls fans locally and around the state.
Assist in the coordination of National Anthem performers, halftime acts, group experiences, and group attendance at Wyoming Athletics events.
Assist in the management of fan experience elements at Cowboy Football games through the Pepsi Pregame Zone, on-field promotions, etc.
Assist with special effects pregame at select sports including taking items on and off the playing surface, assisting in controlling Cyro/Fire effects and light shows.
Provide recommendations and idea generation to full‑time staff with the primary objective dedicated to increasing attendance, improving atmosphere, sponsorship fulfillment, revenue generation and branding.
Oversee marketing efforts for select Wyoming Athletics programs and initiatives, under the supervision of full‑time marketing staff.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Must be a University of Wyoming Student.
Experience:
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods of time.
Must be comfortable interacting in a professional and engaging manner with fans of all ages, including donors, families, college students and children.
Desired Qualifications
Ability to work in a time‑sensitive, team‑oriented environment.
Must have high energy, be enthusiastic, and display positivity regarding the Wyoming Athletics brand.
Must be reliable, punctual, courteous, and have good listening and multi‑tasking skills.
Must possess strong communication skills and be able to communicate with members of the public.
Must be available to work home athletic events for the 2026‑27 athletics season (including all 6 home football games) and maintain regular weekly office hours.
Must be able to arrive several hours before gametime for athletic events.
Must be available to work nights and weekends, and over winter break.
Must be available to work both fall and spring semesters.
