
Communications Coordinator

Overview AVANCE's Communications Coordinator supports the creation and delivery of content across social media, website, email, print, photography, and video. This role helps coordinate projects, track results, and ensure consistent messaging that aligns with the organization’s goals.
Responsibilities Communications Support: Maintain brand consistency across all channels and materials.
Communications Support: Ensure all promotional materials are aligned with AVANCE’s brand identity.
Communications Support: Coordinate communications projects from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Communications Support: Support media outreach by gathering information, drafting materials, and tracking coverage to accurately represent AVANCE.
Communications Support: Coordinate with vendors or freelancers when needed.
Communications Support: Support as a production designer.
Multimedia Support: Edit and format video content for websites, social media, and internal platforms that support AVANCE’s messaging.
Multimedia Support: Plan, shoot, and edit video and photography for campaigns, events, and organizational storytelling, which can be used as instructional or awareness materials.
Multimedia Support: Assist with event promotion and on-site communication needs.
Training and Professional Development: Contribute to professional development by modeling and sharing best practices in communications and storytelling.
Training and Professional Development: Support team training through the development of communication templates, guides, or feedback on materials.
Other: Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or Journalism
Work Experience 2-5 years of experience working in the marketing and communication sector
Video and Photography Experience
Additional Skills Possesses knowledge of effective marketing strategies
Demonstrated video filming and editing skills
Has demonstrated good graphic design skills
Experience with running social media platforms
Exhibits knowledge of AVANCE's identity, mission, and goals
Demonstrates strong writing and editing skills
Communicates clearly and effectively
Possesses strong organizational skills
Is detail-oriented
Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills
Is capable of creating and maintaining a network of vendors for promotional events

Travel Ability to travel to various sites: Dependable transportation is required daily with a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record (subject to annual MVR check and policy), current auto liability insurance and be bondable by AVANCE, Inc.
Travel required up to 25% of the time for work-related site visits, meetings, and functions.
Working Conditions Work is generally performed in an office environment.
Noise level in the work environment is moderate to occasionally loud (examples: business office with computers and printers, light to moderate traffic, human voices).
Standard office equipment generally used includes: Telephone, Personal Computer (monitor, keyboard, and mouse) or Tablet, Printer/Photocopy Machine, Calculator
May be required to operate a motor vehicle during the course of duties.
Mental and Physical Demands Maintain emotional control under stress; work with interruptions and deadlines; walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; occasional: lifting/carrying, pulling/pushing 10-30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Environmental Factors Occasional exposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.). Occasional exposure to weather related conditions when working in outside environment/neighborhoods and events.
