
Marketing and Business Development Manager

The Marketing & Business Development Manager will support the growth of our brand, pipeline, and partnerships, with a specific focus on the NY office and market, which covers a variety of practice areas. This role is ideal for someone early in their management career, as you will take on increasing responsibility across marketing campaigns, client outreach, and business development initiatives. You’ll work closely with senior team members and the partnership to execute strategies that strengthen our presence and drive new business opportunities.
The successful candidate must be self‑motivated and detail‑oriented, with a high energy level and the ability to be agile and flexible.
Job Duties
The following are essential job duties and responsibilities of the Marketing and Business Development Manager. This list is not exhaustive, and other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Serve as on-the-ground point of contact for our growing New York office
Organize, manage, and support client events, seminars, and webinars
Update and coordinate submissions of professional rankings information, nominations and surveys.
Assist in developing proposals, pitch decks, and RFP responses
Maintain updated marketing materials and track experience/matters
Assist BD director(s) in implementing internal and external business development activities.
Coordinates with members of the team on cross-practice efforts for cross-selling initiatives.
Assists with the editing, layout and production of firm and practice group marketing materials (client electronic alerts and updates).
Develop website content, newsletters, brochures, and other external communication pieces related to relevant practices and geographic initiatives.
Conduct research on target markets, competitors, and potential clients
Track marketing expenditures and compile reports with analysis and recommendations
Maintain CRM and business development marketing mailing lists.
Other responsibilities as necessary.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in strategic marketing and business development in a professional services environment. Previous experience at a law firm is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and a basic understanding of law firm practice.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.

Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required. Knowledge of CRMs, email software and proposal software a plus.
Ability to periodically travel to other office locations.
Ability to work in a hybrid remote/office environment.
The target base pay range for this role in New York is $125K-$150K and is dependent on experience and other relevant factors, including geography.
