
Marketing Data Management Intern

About the opportunity
SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a dynamic, creative intern to support our Marketing Systems and Data Management team. It is expected that the intern will work 40 hours per week but there may be opportunities for overtime pay to meet deadlines. The position will be based in Phoenix, AZ in a primarily remote (= distributed) work environment. The individual selected for this internship must be highly organized, able to multi-task, deadline driven, and comfortable with data. In addition, the individual must be a fast learner, able to work with virtual teams, and have a passion for environmental services and sustainability.
This internship will occur during summer 2026 (approximately June 1‑August 15). Earlier start dates or later end dates will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis and are encouraged.
This is a paid 40‑hour per week internship. An intern based in Phoenix, AZ will be paid $19 per hour. The position can be fully office based or hybrid (come into the office 2 times a month).

What you will accomplish
Marketing Data Management
Data quality assurance and quality control within our Client Relationship Management (CRM) tool; includes data entry and assistance with clean-up efforts within the clients, contacts, opportunities, projects, and employee areas of a relational database
Support marketing, business development and/or proposal data and reporting requests
Identify opportunities to improve data processes and support AI-driven automation initiatives (e.g., leveraging Copilot or similar tools to streamline repetitive tasks)
Assist in exploring or building simple AI-powered workflows or “agents” to enhance team efficiency (as applicable)
Overall Marketing Support
Learn industry specific marketing and CRM tracking techniques and best practices necessary for professional growth
Conduct research projects that will provide valuable insights into market trends, competition, and client needs
Experience and qualifications for success
Major in Marketing or closely related field preferred.
Current enrollment in a community college, college, or university, pursuing a certificate of proficiency, Associate's degree, or a Bachelor's degree. Individuals who completed a bachelor's degree within 12 months of May 1, 2026, will also be considered.
Applicants that are pursuing a master's degree will also be considered. Ph.D. candidates are not eligible through this program.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organization and time management skills.
Strong Excel skills helpful.
Exposure to AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) and/or interest in automation and process improvement strongly preferred.
