MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma or its equivalent and four (4) years of experience in news reporting, editing, public relations, public information, agricultural communications, advertising, marketing, mass communications or journalism; or
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Possession of a valid Driver License.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Moderate travel, including overnight, international destinations and sometimes up to two weeks on an emergency program is required.

JOB DUTIES
Digital and Telecommunications
Coordinate, develop, produce and analyze content for Don’t Pack a Pest program’s social media platforms and monthly program report.
Conceptualize, write and edit information and materials (brochures, displays/exhibits, creative documents, web pages, social media posts, etc.) about the Don’t Pack a Pest program for distribution to stakeholders including the public, elected officials, community organizations, media, and other government agencies.
Assist Social Media Coordinator with content development and creation for division’s social media platforms.
Assist with photography and videography projects as needed.
Maintain outreach inventory and assist with the distribution of materials for the division, the public and our stakeholders.
Mails program information to the public as requested.
Assist in the research, creative development, and purchasing over outreach materials such as brochures, posters, digital toolkits, promotional items, etc.
Liaise with Don’t Pack a Pest program participants to provide art files, outreach items and other materials as requested.
Research university outreach opportunities for Don’t Pack a Pest Program and initiate contact.
Liaise with appropriate university points of contact to provide educational resources, outreach materials, and explore tabling events.
Customer Service
Serves as back up receptionist for daily breaks and gaps in coverage.
Serve as back up Helpline operator during gaps in coverage and emergency response programs.
Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner in person and over the phone.
Computer Skills
Writes, reviews and edits in Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.
Research division and department programs and duties.
Database entry for department programs and records purposes.
Other Duties
Performs related duties as required or assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of standard digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera equipment and set up.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Skill in telecommunication and computer programs including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Skills in social media strategy and management.
Skills in social media content planning and development.
Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
