Job Overview
Production Coordinator provides day‑to‑day administrative, scheduling, and operational support to the Stretch Reducing Mill (SRM) to ensure efficient production of standard pipe and mechanical tubing. This role supports frontline operations, maintains production data accuracy, coordinates material flow, assists with shift reporting, and helps ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and operational procedures. The Production Coordinator serves as a key link between Production, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, and Logistics and reports directly to the SRM Production Manager.
Working Conditions
Primarily works within the production mill environment with moderate administrative office work. Exposure to heat, noise, and moving machinery; PPE required at all times. Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods, climb stairs, and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. May require shift work, including nights or weekends, depending on production schedule.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
2+ years of experience in manufacturing, steel processing, or industrial operations support.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and production data systems.
Ability to read production documents, mill specifications, basic technical drawings, and order sheets.
Strong communication and coordination skills in a fast‑paced industrial environment.
Ability to work in a plant setting and interact regularly with operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams.
Preferred experience in steel pipe or tubing manufacturing, especially in mills with stretch‑reducing, ERW, or finishing operations.
Preferred experience using ERP/MES systems (SAP, Oracle, or industry‑specific systems).
Bilingual English/Turkish is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
Assist with daily production scheduling for the SRM, including verifying orders, heat numbers, and routing sequences.
Coordinate material availability (billets, feedstock, tooling, consumables) to support uninterrupted mill operation.
Prepare shift packets, production run sheets, and job travelers for operators.
Track work‑in‑process (WIP) throughout the mill and communicate status to Planning and Logistics.
Enter real‑time production data into ERP/MES systems (e.g., piece counts, downtime events, yields, scrap).
Maintain accurate shift, daily, and weekly production reports.
Support root‑cause investigation data collection for downtime, quality issues, or process deviations.
Assist supervisors with KPI tracking (OEE, throughput, scrap rate, etc.).
Ensure tooling changeovers, consumables, and roll sets are available and properly documented.
Coordinate with Maintenance to schedule minor repairs and preventive maintenance windows.
Facilitate communication between shifts to ensure continuity and clarity of production activities.
Maintain inventory logs for mill tooling, critical spares, and operating supplies.
Support documentation of safety inspections, near‑miss reports, and incident investigations.
Verify that quality documentation (test results, dimensional checks, heat traceability) is attached and stored correctly.
Ensure all production paperwork complies with company ISO/quality standards.
Serve as the administrative point‑of‑contact for SRM during assigned shift.
Prepare production dashboards and communicate updates during daily meetings.
Support translation or communication alignment between U.S. and Turkish corporate functions, if needed.
Assist with overtime tracking, attendance logs, and shift rosters for the production team.
Activities
Ensuring products are ran accordingly to policies and procedures.
Maintaining a smooth operation of product flow through departments.
Communicating with VP’s, Managers, and Supervisors on any schedule changes within their departments.
Responsible for creating and distributing all production work orders.
Other duties as assigned.
