
Commercial Landscape Maintenance Account Manager

Position Summary
The Landscape Maintenance Account Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of properties, ensuring high-quality landscape care and exceptional customer service. This role focuses on building strong client relationships, overseeing field crews, and maintaining the overall health, appearance, and value of each property.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients
- Conduct regular property walkthroughs with clients to review service quality and needs
- Respond promptly to client requests, questions, and concerns
- Build long-term relationships to ensure client satisfaction and retention
- Educate clients on plant health, seasonal services, and landscape improvements
Operations & Service Delivery
- Oversee all maintenance services including mowing, edging, pruning, fertilization, weed control, and seasonal clean-ups
- Ensure each property is maintained according to company standards and client expectations
- Schedule and coordinate recurring maintenance visits and special services
- Perform routine property inspections and address quality issues proactively
Team Leadership & Crew Management
- Supervise and support field crews and crew leaders
- Provide training on proper horticultural practices, equipment use, and safety procedures
- Monitor crew productivity and quality of work
- Foster a positive, accountable team environment
Enhancement Sales & Property Improvements
- Identify opportunities for landscape enhancements such as plantings, mulching, irrigation improvements, and seasonal color
- Prepare estimates and proposals for additional services
- Communicate recommendations clearly to clients and follow up on approvals
Financial & Administrative Duties
- Manage budgets for assigned accounts, including labor and materials
- Track job costs and ensure services are delivered efficiently
- Assist with billing accuracy and review of service records
- Support route optimization and scheduling efficiency
Quality Control & Horticultural Care
- Monitor plant health, irrigation performance, and turf conditions
- Recommend and implement corrective treatments as needed
- Ensure proper pruning techniques and seasonal care practices are followed
- Promote environmentally responsible landscaping practices
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- 2–5+ years of experience in landscape maintenance or similar field
- Prior experience in a supervisory, crew leader, or client-facing role preferred
- Degree or certification in Horticulture, Landscape Management, or related field is a plus
