Responsibilities Essential Functions Serve as on-site Course Leadership for Challenge Course and Drone programs ensuring participant safety, security, and emotional welfare. Maintain the quality and consistency of all Challenge Course and Drone programs, upholding high training standards. Optimize schedules and resources across the Challenge Course to maximize efficiency. Ensure all facilities and equipment meet safety, cleanliness, and legal standards. Keep accurate and up-to-date inventory and safety logs for Challenge Course and Drone materials, supplies, and equipment. Communicate promptly and effectively with the Skills Training Manager, meeting expectations for internal and external communications. Regularly inspect and maintain course elements and equipment, coordinating repairs with outside sources when needed. Develop and implement written safety and operating procedures under the guidance of the Skills Training Manager. Ensure all Challenge Course and Drone staff understand, enforce, and follow safety standards. Provide timely and relevant training for all Challenge Course staff, ensuring compliance with Rocket Center policies and departmental guidelines. Monitor staff performance and ensure accurate completion of tasks. Communicate operational and corporate information to Challenge Course staff regularly. Assist in optimizing staffing schedules to enhance productivity and meet contractual obligations. Support the Skills Training Manager in developing and updating departmental policies and procedures. Other Duties as Assigned Supervisory Responsibilities : Yes Level of Supervision: This supervisory role involves acting as on-site Course Leadership during Challenge Course and Drone programs ensuring participant safety and program integrity. Responsibilities include overseeing Challenge Course and Drone area staff, ensuring adherence to training and safety standards, managing schedules, and providing necessary staff training. The supervisor enforces policies, communicates operational updates, assists with scheduling for productivity, and supports the Skills Training Manager in policy development. Additionally, the role includes inspecting and maintaining equipment, documenting safety logs, and coordinating repairs to uphold safety and efficiency standards. Travel Required : No Qualifications Required Education Two years of college required. Required Experience 2-3 years of experience in a related educational environment, with proven skills in leading, directing, and scheduling staff. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with the public, employees, management, children, and adults in a training setting, with comfortability working at heights. Previous experience in a challenge course instruction environment or in supervisory, lead, or assistant manager roles within Aerospace Programs preferred. Proficient with Windows-based operating systems and basic software applications, including word processing and spreadsheets. Other Requirements Physical Requirements This position requires walking and climbing ropes, ladders, and poles to set up and access course elements. Standing or sitting for extended periods (4-6 hours or the full shift) is necessary for instructing, managing course elements, and completing administrative tasks. Lifting and carrying objects, supplies, and equipment up to 50 pounds, as well as bending, kneeling, and reaching to set up and facilitate course elements, are essential. The role also involves presenting instructional and safety briefings, using sight, reading, wrist movements, and tactile skills to operate course elements and computer terminals, review reports, and write documents. Verbal and auditory communication skills are critical for instructing employees and trainees in person and over the phone. Extensive interaction with employees and guests is required, as the role involves supporting and managing assigned areas of responsibility. Eligibility Qualifications Must be authorized to work in the United States. Work Environment Environmental Factors This position involves working outdoors, including walking to and from course elements and climbing structures in various weather conditions, as well as performing some duties indoors in a climate-controlled office environment.
