Parks and Recreation is looking for a seasonal Aquatics Head Lifeguard to help keep our Lincoln Public Pools safe, welcoming, and running smoothly. As an Aquatics Head Lifeguard, you'll be a leader on deck and in the water! If this sounds like the perfect way to spend your summer days, float your application in today! Season starts May 25 and ends August 9. Must be available for skill testing and training in May. Applicants may indicate the swimming pool of their choice: Arnold Heights 4000 N.W. 46th Street Ballard 3901 N. 66th Street Belmont 12th & Manatt Streets Eden 4400 Antelope Creek Road Highlands 5511 N.W. 12th Street Irvingdale 1900 Van Dorn Street Star City Shores 4375 S. 33rd Court University Place 2000 N. 48th Street Woods 33rd & J Streets What You'll Be Doing Ensuring the safety of all pool patrons through vigilant supervision and quick response Dealing fairly, professionally, and courteously with the public Assisting with daily pool operations and maintaining a fun, safe environment Applying your knowledge of Red Cross Lifeguarding, water quality, and pool operations What We're Looking For Ability to deal fairly and courteously with the public Knowledge of Red Cross Lifeguarding training Knowledge of water quality, and pool operations as required by the Lincoln/Lancaster County Health Department Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills Compensation and Pay: Starting at $17.50 per hour. Pay is issued by direct deposit only. Candidates must have a valid bank account registered in their name in order to receive wages. This is an unclassified (seasonal) position and not eligible for benefits. Schedule: Variable hours between 6:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. daily. Approximately 35-40 hours per week. Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 19 years of age or older prior to May 23, 2026. Must maintain current Lifeguard Certification and CPR for the Professional Rescuer Card, and Pool Operator's Card throughout employment.
