Golf Course Attendant
Under limited supervision, the Golf Course Attendant performs clerical, concession, and cashiering work in registering and starting golf players at the golf clubhouse. Additionally, performs semi-skilled and manual work maintaining the golf cart fleet, clubhouse, and grounds. Distinguishing Career Features
The Mini-Golf Attendant is responsible for providing excellent service to all customers. This includes receiving money, assisting, and answering questions about services and the facility and resolving customer problems and facility issues. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Golf Course Manager, who reviews work primarily based on results attained and on the accomplishment of outlined objectives and goals. Supervision is provided to site and support staff. Requirements
Maintains the clubhouse and golf grounds clean and orderly. Picks up trash on the clubhouse and course. Assists in the storing, staging, and returning of golf carts while ensuring that all carts are cleaned and/or washed as needed. Ensures that all carts are accounted for, refueled, and ready for operation. Registers players, collects fees, assigns golf carts, and answers customer inquiries. Provides excellent customer service to golf course users. Verifies membership status and collects membership fees. Completes the daily duties assigned and any other duties assigned by the supervisor. Operates POS and cash drawer. Reconciles starting bank and performs predetermined close cash duties. Enforces golf course and clubhouse rules and policies. Records attendance, sales, receipts, reservations, and repair activities. Provides information about facilities, entertainment options and rules and regulations. Distributes equipment to patrons, handles concession sales, sets up facilities and provides facility tours. Performs day-to-day responsibilities while on site to include general janitorial duties, cleaning equipment, and light maintenance. Performs other duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position. Knowledge and Skills
The position requires considerable knowledge and understanding of exceptional customer service, record keeping, and general office procedures and practices; knowledge of computers including e-mail, internet, basic word processing and spreadsheets. Requires basic knowledge of golf club rules and regulations, golf clubhouse procedures, and City functions, policies, and procedures. Requires sufficient writing skills to prepare basic business correspondence and account footnotes. Requires sufficient math skills to compute sums, quotients, products, ratios, percent, and portions. Requires sufficient human relation skills to convey procedural information and deal positively with customers on financial transactions. Computer literate. Active listening skills with ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Abilities
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; work successfully with patrons, other departments, Parks & Recreation staff, co-workers, and supervisor; work independently; act calmly and effectively in emergency situations; accurately account for money. Requires the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Physical Abilities
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, and bend. The position requires general mobility including the ability to lift, manipulate and move materials weighing up to 30 pounds on a regular basis such as equipment, inventory, etc. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally required to reach and lift objects (weighing no more than 20 pounds) above their shoulders. The position frequently requires the use of arms, wrists, and hands for the entirety of the work period. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 70% of the work period. The duties of this position require the employee to be both indoors and outdoors for approximately equal amounts of time; exposure to warmer summer temperatures while working outside should be expected. Education and Experience
The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Licenses and Certificates
Requires Texas Food Handlers Certificate and TABC Certification within three months of employment. Requires a valid Texas driver's license. Working Conditions
