Textile Designer
Confidential, Los Angeles, CA, United States
We’re looking for a Textile Designer who can actually do the work, not just concept it.
Skills, Experience, Qualifications, If you have the right match for this opportunity, then make sure to apply today.
Position Overview: This role is responsible for creating production-ready prints and graphics for men’s basics across underwear, socks, and apparel. This is not a purely creative role. You need to understand how design translates to manufacturing, cost, scale, and timelines. If you’ve only worked in concept or runway, this is not the job.
Responsibilities: Create original, on-brand print and pattern designs across core fabrications (cotton stretch, modal, mesh, etc.) Deliver fully production-ready artwork including repeats, color separations, and mill-ready files Build seamless repeats across multiple scales for different product types (underwear vs socks vs tops) Partner closely with Design, Production, and Sourcing to ensure designs are executable within cost and timeline constraints Prepare and manage tech packs specific to print and textile execution Maintain and organize a print library that can be leveraged across seasons and programs Translate trend and consumer insights (Target, Walmart, Amazon) into commercially viable prints that drive sell-through Balance novelty and volume-driving core prints that can scale across programs
Required Qualifications: Expert in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for textile design Strong understanding of repeat construction (half drop, mirror, engineered placement, etc.) Hands-on experience preparing artwork for screen print, rotary, and digital printing Deep knowledge of color separation, print limitations, and fabric behavior Experience working directly with overseas mills and vendors Ability to design within cost targets and manufacturing constraints Strong eye for scale, placement, and how prints translate on body and across size runs Comfort working fast and iterating quickly without losing accuracy
Requirements: 5+ years of textile design experience in apparel Must have experience in men’s product (underwear, socks, or basics strongly preferred) Proven track record of taking prints from concept to bulk production Experience working with mass retail (Target, Walmart, Amazon) Portfolio that clearly shows production-ready work, not just mood boards
What Will Set You Apart: Experience designing for high-volume, repeatable programs (not one-off fashion prints) Understanding of fabric behavior across cotton, modal, synthetics, and blends Ability to think commercially first while still pushing the brand forward Comfort operating in a fast-moving, slightly chaotic environment where ownership matters
This role is for someone who can sit between creative and production and actually connect the two. If your files can’t go straight to a mill, this won’t work. xsgimln
**Resumes must include a link to your portfolio or have a portfolio attached.
