Position Summary The Associate Merchandiser – E-Commerce plays a critical role in driving digital growth across G-III’s wholesale eCommerce channels, with a primary focus on Amazon. This position partners cross-functionally to execute category strategies, manage performance metrics, and deliver best-in-class online product presentation. The Associate Merchandiser acts as the category business owner—analyzing trends, monitoring performance, and identifying strategic opportunities to drive sales, profitability, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities Business Management & Strategy Partner with the Director of Wholesale and Finance teams to develop monthly sales plans, manage budgets, and forecast trends. Oversee category performance to ensure business objectives are achieved, including forecasting, performance monitoring, and identifying risks and growth opportunities. Conduct financial, competitive, and trend analyses to inform assortment and promotional planning. Manage seasonal hindsight reporting to evaluate channel-specific performance and identify future opportunities. Promotional Planning & Execution Develop and execute promotional strategies for Amazon Vendor-Powered Coupons, Deals, and key tentpole events such as Prime Day and Cyber Monday. Collaborate with Marketing and Operations teams to align promotions with strategic goals and budget allowances. Support the implementation, tracking, and optimization of digital marketing initiatives to maximize ROI. Assortment & Product Strategy Analyze sales performance, consumer feedback, and historical data to inform assortment decisions. Monitor competitive landscape and emerging trends to identify new growth opportunities. Serve as category expert to ensure product offerings align with customer demand and marketplace trends. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Demand Planning, Marketing, and Digital Operations teams to align product, pricing, and promotional strategies. Manage seasonal development calendars by organizing meetings, tracking deliverables, and ensuring deadlines are met. Collaborate with internal teams to improve the online customer experience and ensure accurate, compelling product presentation. Inventory & Operational Oversight Monitor inventory levels and proactively address low-stock and out-of-stock risks. Coordinate with Supply Chain and Operations teams to maintain optimal product availability across eCommerce channels.
Qualifications Required Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or related field preferred. 3–5 years of experience in eCommerce, merchandising, planning, or digital retail. Advanced Excel skills including data analysis, pivot tables, and reporting models. Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities. Proven problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. Preferred Prior experience with Amazon Vendor Central and Premium Analytics tools. Working knowledge of digital performance metrics and promotional optimization. Experience in cross-functional organizations and omni-channel retail environments. Apparel or fashion industry experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word with strong presentation skills.
