Position Summary
The Program Director for Academic Term Programs will support the work of the Office of International Education in the Institute for International and Experiential Education.
The Program Director will be a 12-month full-time position.
The program director will report to the Director of the Institute for International and Experiential Education within the Andrew Young Center for Global Leadership ( AYCGL ). The Program Director will support initiatives to enhance the institution’s global presence and the experiences of students on campus and through study abroad. The program director will be responsible for advising students, promoting study abroad, communicating with and hosting partners, and implementing all aspects of academic term and summer study abroad programs, including collaborating with study abroad partners and institutions partnering with Morehouse to provide study abroad experiences. The program director will collaborate to lead campus engagement activities, promotion, and marketing for the Office of International Education. The program director will collaborate with the IIEE director, assistant director, and program coordinator to develop and implement the OIE strategic plan with a goal of ensuring high quality study abroad experiences and increasing the number of Morehouse students who study abroad.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Position Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree and documented experience managing international education programming, including study abroad.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of or ability to learn best practices in global education, including advising, safety and emergency best practices, and evaluation.
- Ability to efficiently and independently implement academic term and summer study abroad program opportunities for students at the College.
- Ability to address student concerns and advise students regarding study abroad.
- Ability to conduct student training and preparation for study abroad.
- Ability to coordinate and lead meetings related to academic term and summer study abroad programs.
- Knowledge of or capacity to develop a high level of proficiency in the ViaTRm study abroad platform to manage student applications.
- Ability to develop and revise internal study abroad processes and procedures.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to implement programs, including Morehouse College faculty and staff.
- Ability to design and implement effective promotion campaigns, utilizing social media and other strategies, to enhance OIE study abroad outcomes and improve the global experiences of students on campus.
- High level of proficiency in software platforms used by the College, including Box, Blackboard, Doodle, Formstack, Banner, and Microsoft Suite.
- Capacity to learn and effectively utilize Morehouse procedures for booking facilities, securing catering, and other internal services.
- Capacity to learn and effectively utilize business processes for requisitions, supplies, equipment, travel, etc.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities during very busy periods.
- Ability to independently create and edit written correspondence.
- Possess discretion and ability to manage confidential information.
Scope: The primary responsibility of the Program Director will be to support the development, implementation, and oversight of all academic term and summer study abroad programs at the College. The program director will collaborate in leading on-campus initiatives, including marketing and promotion.
Implementation of Academic Term and Summer Study Abroad Programs:
· Advising Students for participation in academic term and summer programs
· Advising for the Gilman and other scholarships
· Academic Term and Summer Program Implementation, including managing applications and other processes
· Collaboration with study abroad and institutional partners
· Process and procedure developments as needed to support student participation
· Pre-Departure Sessions for students
Office Operations:
· Website Development / maintenance / content updates
· Manage business and other processes to implement study abroad student participation
· Promotion of Study Abroad, including through Social Media and other strategies
Campus Engagement/Programming
· Co-lead in Design and implementation of all on-campus programming
Co-lead Annual International Education Symposium
