Job Summary:

North Logan City is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Marketing Intern to join our team. This paid internship offers an exciting opportunity to promote the professional brand of North Logan City as it undergoes immense growth. We are looking for an individual who can increase our professional presence on social media, make municipality related information more accessible to the public, increase government transparency, and bolster our connection with the community.

This would include promoting North Logan City programs and events, Green Canyon High School events, and local business promotions, engaging with the community through our Citizen Highlight initiative, contributing to various marketing initiatives, and presenting creative ways to bolster our connection with the community.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for social media marketing, strong communication and graphic design skills, and a desire to support our community's vibrant spirit.

Key Responsibilities

Post regularly about community events, programs, public meetings, and business promotions and events within North Logan.

Provide input regarding the City's Master Signage Plan and re-branding efforts.

Create and design promotional materials (swag) for city employees, and recreation and library programs.

Assist in updating and maintaining the new North Logan City website, ensuring a user-friendly experience

Promote Green Canyon High School athletics through engaging content on our social media platforms, primarily Facebook and Instagram

Monitor social media engagement and provide insights for increased engagement

Collaborate in brainstorming sessions to develop new marketing strategies and campaigns

Qualifications

Current undergraduate student or recent graduate in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business, Graphic Design, or a related field.

Experience with Canva, multiple AI softwares, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.

Experience managing social media pages for organizations in the past - familiarity with social media platforms, especially Facebook and Instagram.

Strong writing and editing skills

Basic design skills (experience with graphic design tools is a plus).

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to work collaboratively and independently

A passion for community engagement is preferred

Compensation

Paid internship at $16/hour, part-time (10-15 hours per week) with flexible scheduling to accommodate classes
