Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to manage and maintain a large-scale, highly available Oracle environment. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Oracle database administration, performance tuning, and high availability architecture, and thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment working alongside developers, architects, and security teams.
Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and implement database projects in support of growing organizational data demands
Manage backup and restore operations, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and perform planned and unplanned failovers
Perform ongoing database maintenance including optimization and tuning of queries, indexes, memory, I/O, tablespace, and schemas
Lead capacity planning, incident response, and root cause analysis efforts
Contribute to short-term tactical and long-term strategic planning for database environments
Develop and enforce policies for effective database process planning
Design and implement reports and report interfaces for end users
Collaborate cross-functionally with development, architecture, and security teams
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of expertise with Oracle database architecture
10+ years with Oracle 12c or higher
10+ years with Oracle RMAN backup and recovery strategies
10+ years tuning Oracle databases (queries, indexes, memory, I/O, storage)
10+ years with Oracle RAC and highly available environments
10+ years performing Oracle database failovers
10+ years writing complex SQL, functions, triggers, and database objects
10+ years troubleshooting Oracle databases
10+ years performing Oracle database upgrades
10+ years managing Oracle database security
11–15 years of database design, documentation, and coding
11–15 years designing and implementing reports and report interfaces
11–15 years of SQL experience
Preferred / Nice To Have
5+ years working with Oracle databases in cloud environments (Azure, AWS)
5+ years with database automation and DevOps practices
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or higher — required
