Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C., is seeking an

Intern for their Marketing Department

in Richmond, Virginia. The Summer Marketing Intern assists the Marketing Team with current marketing assignments and initiatives as well as providing support with customer events at Carter stores and offsite locations. Independent project work for future initiatives requiring cross functional collaborative efforts is expected. In addition, the Summer Intern will perform various tasks under the direction of experienced personnel from May through August. The intern will follow a structured curriculum designed to provide hands-on/real-world experience, opportunities to own projects from start to finish (ideation to final report outs), education from seasoned marketing professionals, and involvement from conception to implementation. Candidates should be currently pursuing a degree in Marketing or a related subject. Responsibilities

Assist the Marketing Team with current marketing assignments and initiatives. Support customer events at Carter stores and offsite locations. Perform independent projects for future initiatives requiring cross-functional collaboration. Engage in a structured curriculum designed to provide hands-on experience and ownership from ideation to final reporting. Qualifications

Self-starter able to work with limited supervision, with a strong passion for understanding problem statements and owning the path to solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Suite. Strong commitment to teamwork. Ability to multi-task while maintaining organized and detailed documentation. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to function well in a fast-paced work environment. Must have an excellent driving record. Physical requirements

Regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear. Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
