Overview This internship will refine your skills and provide experiences in marketing and communication that you will be proud to include on your resume. We are looking for a globally minded student, as this position will expose you to amazing stories of what Samford undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and alumni are doing every day around the world. The position will involve promoting and supporting the mission and vision of the SamfordGlobal Office and showcasing international education at Samford.
Responsibilities
Write press releases and feature stories for newsletters, website, and other internal and external publications
Create social media content and strategies for the social media pages
Design graphics for small projects
Design and create email templates
Promote and document on-campus events
Research the latest email and social media marketing practices for implementation
Assist in editing and proofing emails
Create and maintain connections with campus partners such as faculty, departments, and student organizations
Participate in other organizational tasks as needed
Schedule & Compensation This position averages 10 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Most of the work is to be completed in person at the SamfordGlobal Offices on weekdays between 8:00-4:30pm. Occasionally non-business hours work may be necessary. Preference for applicants who are available to begin work during the Spring 2026 semester and work an average of 4-12 hours per week during May-August. Interns will be compensated at $15.00/hour.
Federal Work/Study earnings will be paid biweekly in the form of a check or direct deposit payable to the student. This award does not credit to the account of the student as payment toward University charges.
Qualifications Preferred Qualifications
Previous study abroad experience through SamfordGlobal (Preferred but not required)
Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
Experience managing a professional working environment
Organization skills and strong time management abilities
Strong work ethic
Knowledge and understanding of AP Style
Social media experience
Interest in photography and videography
Ability to work individually and collaboratively
Creativity and excitement for all things marketing and communication
Up to date with current social media trends and Samford student body culture
Personable and a go-getter who’s not afraid to get the job done
Professional individual who will meet given deadlines
