Overview The MSHSML is seeking a motivated individual to serve as its Executive Director. The MSHSML is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that exists to identify students who have exceptional mathematical ability or interest, to recognize and encourage them, to bring them together with similar students, and to give them the opportunity to study topics not commonly taught in the high school curriculum. The MSHSML sponsors a winter competitive mathematics program for its member schools and provides other competitive opportunities for highly-motivated students throughout the year.

Job Summary The Executive Director serves as the visible face of the Minnesota State High School Mathematics League (MSHSML). This person acts as business manager, spokesperson, strategic plan developer and manager for the League in conjunction with, and approval of, the Board of Directors.

Duties

Promote and grow the League by working with schools, current media (traditional and social), and other appropriate networks

Collaborate with Associate Director and Treasurer to prepare, present and maintain annual budget

Communicate with League membership and the public regarding MSHSML business

Plan and develop annual events, including the State Tournament and Coaches Conference, in conjunction with Executive Committee

Support League programming including All-State Math Team to provide student opportunities to compete at the national level

Seek out new funding opportunities to sustain and grow the League

Build and maintain relationships with key partners including, but not limited to MCTM, UMTYMP, MATHCOUNTS, and the Junior High Math League

May perform other duties as determined by the Board of Directors and President of the MSHSML

Qualifications

Experience as a high school and/or college-level math instructor

Fundraising and/or grant writing experience

Leadership experience

Familiarity with the Minnesota State High School Mathematics League
