As a Brand Manager, you will drive the growth and development of a portfolio of international brands by leading commercial strategy and marketing execution. You will work closely with internal teams, executive leadership, and commercial partners to ensure brand integrity and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
Your role involves developing and implementing sales and distribution strategies, driving revenue growth, overseeing financial performance, and leveraging market insights to maximize brand potential. You will also play a critical role in ensuring seamless collaboration across departments to enhance brand visibility, expand market share, and optimize commercial operations.
Your responsibilities will be:
Develop and implement sales and distribution strategies to achieve revenue and market share targets.
Lead the Sales Annual Budgeting Strategy, aligning manufacturer expectations with Mexilink’s capabilities.
Ensure optimal product placement and visibility by supporting the sales team managing key customer relationships and negotiating contracts.
Support Territory Managers with product training for merchandisers and second sales force teams.
Provide monthly sales visibility updates vs. objectives to brand partners.
Participate in commercial activities, promotions, and trade events to maximize product exposure.
Work with the sales team to identify new prospective clients and develop strategies for close-out items and special product opportunities.
Conduct market visits with Territory Managers and business partners to assess execution and identify business growth opportunities.
Oversee broker management to strengthen distribution and sales performance.
Lead and analyze distribution mapping to identify expansion opportunities and improve category growth.
Support key distributor business reviews alongside Territory Managers.
Serve as the brand champion and expert, ensuring integrity across all commercial activities.
Foster strong partnerships with commercial partners (brands) to drive mutual success.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute marketing plans, product launches, promotions, and advertising campaigns.
Utilize category, customer, and consumer insights to develop strategic brand positioning.
Ensure brand engagement execution through partnerships, social media, events, and conventions.
Analyze marketing data and consumer feedback to refine marketing strategies.
Monitor compliance of product catalogs with regulatory and legal requirements.
Develop and manage budgets for the commercial department, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.
Monitor financial performance, assess variances, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Participate in the S&OP process, collaborating with finance, supply chain, marketing, and sales to refine demand planning and inventory management.
Ensure recoverable expenses and brand partner incentives align with Mexilink’s financial goals.
Prepare and lead monthly and yearly sales performance reviews, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
Oversee the monitoring and management of open funds to maximize brand investments.
Analyze information from market research to identify emerging trends, consumer behaviors, and business opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic business plans aligned with company objectives.
Utilize analytics and performance metrics to make data-driven decisions that enhance commercial success.
Generate and present regular reports on sales, marketing, and financial performance to senior management.
Track and measure KPIs to ensure ongoing improvement in commercial activities.
Provide strategic recommendations based on trade promotion analysis, consumer insights, and sales trends.
Oversee and execute new initiatives related to the brands assigned, ensuring growth and market penetration.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
5+ years of proven experience in commercial management in the CPG industry, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
Knowledge of market research techniques and tools.
Strong project/time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to effectively build and foster relationships with current and potential clients and colleagues.
Receptive to new ideas, concepts, and procedures, and able to contribute in these areas.
Curious, proactive, and solutions oriented.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills; proficiency speaking/demonstrating in front of groups including senior leaders.
Experience with consumer/customer insights tools.
Proficient in MS Office.
The team member must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the team member is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The team member is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
